CarComplaints.com Notes: Kia really changed the design of the Sorento in the 2011 model year. Instead of a truck-like body-on-frame more capable of offroad adventures, the newest Sorento is a unibody construction and is much more crossover than sport utility. The changes brought a whole slew of problems, including a frustrating problem where the door that won’t open. Is it too late to go back?

I need to start by saying I love the vehicle itself but have had nothing but problems with it. I will never buy another Kia. I had needed a new starter, could not open my doors from outside even when doors were not locked, my power steering rack was leaking, my back up camera was not working properly, my stick shift doesn't always click when placed in park, etc. Now my radio come on then goes off, comes on again and off again. I was told I need a whole new system which would cost me another 1500.00. Kia has been pretty good till now but will not cover the radio. They are now telling me it was only covered up to 36,000 miles which I was not told when I bought it. I guess they do expect it to break, otherwise they would cover it for more. The problems with the 2011 has been enormous. They should have more recalls!!!!! I am so disappointed. Never have I had a radio go and I have owed many vehicles till they died. Kia needs to address the issues with the 2011 Kia Sorento.
