CarComplaints.com Notes: Kia really changed the design of the Sorento in the 2011 model year. Instead of a truck-like body-on-frame more capable of offroad adventures, the newest Sorento is a unibody construction and is much more crossover than sport utility. The changes brought a whole slew of problems, including a frustrating problem where the door that won’t open. Is it too late to go back?
I went to LAN, MI Kia dealership to report the driver window button was not functioning correctly. They took the door apart and quoted me for a new switch that operates all windows $389.00++ labor. Before that appointment, the car lost headlights, window capabilities, heat, air, and wipers-all dead after I had driven it 45 miles in one trip. Called and got it in next day. Window switch replaced and "a bunch of fuses". They replied "we don't know what caused this". One week later it does the same exact thing after driving 45 miles in one trip. THIS time they claim the entire fuse box needs replacing $849.00 + three hours labor. It's still in the shop. I can't afford this. It has just over 76,000 miles-off warranty by the way!!!
