Had time belt and CRANK BOLT changed on 11/3/17 at 203665 miles due having the vehicle tuneup and had work done in the area that the time belt was in. To avoid extra repair bill in 50000 miles. This was the 4th time timing belt has been changed; 73074 miles, 148204 miles, 181638 miles (Crankshaft pulley broken and had to be replaced), and now at 203655 miles. Current miles on KIA is approximate 205500 miles.
When bolt broke was under power at 40 miles a hour after having it towed to my mechanic shop who did not start work on it until 3 weeks ago due to being backed up had no problem with that, started on it then had to stop and send picture to locate KIA dealership where parts were got. The dealership in-turn had to contact KIA rep (back and forth). Mechanic told me that he thought the values were going to be messed up so after checking found out values were messed up so heads were removed. Guess what was found when head was removed a value had gone though one on the pistons(picture attached). So back to pictures being supplies to dealership who in-turn supplies to KIA rep. Was informed on 3/7/18 that KIA is not going to do anything about replacing engine or helping out due to faulty CRANK BOLT(picture attached), so for $8.88(amount charged to me on last invoice) which has caused a working engine to no longer be of any use.
WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY A KIA AND WILL INFORM ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS IF THEY HAVE A KIA THINK REAL FAST ABOUT GETTING RID OF IT OF STAYING AWAY OF KIA. If anyone know of any lawsuit pending against KIA for faulty parts please contact me.
Update from May 30, 2018: KIA finally got a response from KIA Motors America, because I did not have the vehicle serviced at the local KIA dealership and all the work done on the vehicle had been done by 3rd party nothing was going to be done. The problem is the parts were got at KIA dealership so no after market product was used.
