As you can see from the photos this issue was not something that happened overnight, this damage was caused by a slow long painful process of water and road salt entering a on both sides of the frame as per design by KIA MOTORS 2 giant mouth size openings on each side of frame next to the rear wheels and in the wheel wells that allowed the rear frames cross member to hold water. So its safe to assume this was basically a huge design flaw. The frame has other cross members that have never reached this amount of rust and guess why, because they are sealed and water cant get in them. I have a read many other reports on the 2004 SOR WAGON from other owners reporting the same thing, yet I guess its not a big enough issue for KIA US motors to acknowledge. Forget trying to call the KIA USA help line at 1-800-333-4542 their representatives are well trained in avoiding taking any type of ownership or offering any type of help to their customers. The basic conversation was denial of any type of possible admittance to a know issue with this vehicle and basically they pushed you off as if it was not any of their concern. The advice was to stop driving the car and report it to my insurance company after having to pay a $125 fee from a local dealer to tell me what we can already visibly see. What a joke. I will never ever promote or purchase another KIA product again.
