This van will not throw heat properly. It takes forever to come up to operating temperature in the Winter. We are forced to drive around for an extra 20-30 minutes to actually have it throw heat and come up to operating temperature before shutting off. If you are not heavy off the gas the engine temperature drops drastically by cruising in the city at speeds of 50km/h.
This has been taken to Kia and they replaced the thermostat under warranty that helped minimally. The temperature doesn't drop as fast when cruising at 50km/h, however it still takes an unnecessary amount of time to warm up and after shutting the van off to run into a store for a few minutes and come back out you have to start all over from scratch. You end up sitting in the parking lot like a fool for 15 minutes waiting for it to throw enough heat to clear the windows.
There is something really wrong with the heater in these models.
