Car was delivered to Kia of South austin for repair as per sc165A (airbag recall) and for SC188 (fuel rail recall) on Monday May 25th. Dealer confirmed that there is a fuel leak at the fuel rail location. Dealer was instructed by Kia motors of America to disable the car until a remedy is available. It is now Saturday May 30th and there is no remedy timeline for the fuel leak and the dealer refuses to conduct the airbag remedy.
The contact owns a 2012 Kia Sedona. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20V101000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer nor the dealer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Gas smell in car 11/2017 while in motion. Experiencing a sort of 'hesitation', like wanting to stall. Brought to dealer. Dealer identified issue- crack in fuel rail, leaking on engine. Item was not covered under warranty and quoted at just under $1K to repair. The dealership wanted me to sign a waiver saying I knew my car was a fire hazard since I couldn't afford to pay their rates for the repair. Told me I would end up in the news if I didn't get it fixed there. I refused, and took my car to my local repair shop where I paid for the repair.
We discovered a fuel leakage after getting gas, but did not discover this leak until after driving home from the gas station. There was a strong smell of gasoline and we noticed that the fuel gauge went down rather quickly. After getting home from the gas station, we noticed the smell of gas was still very strong and that was when we noticed the leak, on our driveway. In the time that we were driving, we had been leaking gasoline the whole time, and could have lost our lives on our way home. We took our Kia to be inspected and repaired and they discovered that the fuel rail was damaged: It had a crack along one side.

I purchased my 2012 Kia Sedona on 8-11-2018 & found out that they sold me a vehicle on the recall list. I said there was a safety issue on a recall list & after battling cancer & an 8 month survivor, I don't want this vehicle that could cause my demise. When I attempted to return to the Kia dealership here in daytona beach, fl, they said when I drove it off the lot I would lose thousand dollars towards another (safe) vehicle. I feel this was wrong not only to sell me an unsafe vehicle, but for me to lose $ on another vehicle is wrong. Please call me on my cell#[xxx]. [xxx]. thank you for your help.
