This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I bought my 2005 Kia Sedona in September 2005. In the month of April I noticed my hub caps were peeling. When I contacted my Kia dealer he informed me that it was not a defect but instead they wheels must have been cleaned with an acid base cleaner. I told him I had already contacted my car detailer and they said they do not use any cleaner like that because they are well aware of the fact this can happen. When I relayed this to the service manger at the dealership he said they must be wrong. But in any case he would replace only the ones that were peeling and would only do it this one time. From now on I would have to purchase them. He also said he had other customers with the same problem and he only replaced theirs once and some have paid to have them replaced up to four times in the past year. But again he said it's not Kia's problem. I think he needs to rethink this and Kia does to. They use cheap plastic hub caps and need to do something about it.
