This van has been in 3 times for brakes the rotors keep warping. I have taken it to the Kia place twiced and to it to another dealership the third time. I have only had the van for 2 years (May 08). The other dealership says, that I will have to replace the rotors every 6 months. The rotors become warped "excessive lateral run out" per Kia the front tires wear excessively, and the vehicle does not stay aligned. All that Kia will do is replace the front rotors and pads until the warranty is out then the consumer pays. I have research on line the front brakes are undersized, causing the rotors to over heat and warp. The struts seem to have a wrong type of mount system and have to be replaced. Kia is doing nothing about this they state that it is driving habits. Thousands of people have complained about this, Kia's final stand is that it is my driving habits. They are not taking responsibility for the safety flaw in their engineering of the front end being in adequate for the weight of the vehicle. Kia needs to stand up and fix there vans'. I have replaced 6 tires in the last two years.

The 2005 Kia Sedona I own has been plagued by numerous problems. The first of which is a brake malfunction. It was thumping when braking at high speeds then grinding when braking at low speeds. The pads have been replaced, rotors machined, then they were replaced. Also, there is a joint or strut problem B/C. when you go over a bump in a residential neighborhood it sounds creaky and as if it might snap. Also, power door locks have been serviced twice. In addition the steering wheel is very shaky. The dealer blamed that on alignment. Also, the tires need to be replaced at less than 25K and probably have needed to be replaced since 15K. This is due to the brake problem I am certain. All attempts to have these issues resolved have been blown off by the dealer -- until 11/07 when I demanded that there was indeed something wrong.

- the contact owns a 2005 Kia Sedona. There was a pulsing, braking, pulling motion as if the vehicle wanted to go in a different direction when the contact engaged the brake. The failure mileage was 11,00, and the current mileage was 12000. The failure was not due to a need for a front end alignment. The failure occurred 30 times.

I bought my very first new vehicle in Sept 2005, and had my first auto accident less than six weeks later. I was on my way to work on Friday, Oct 28, 2005. I came upon a vehicle stopped in my lane. I put the brakes on, and left a small skid mark. I had plenty of room to stop my vehicle, but was unable to. Once I pressed the brakes, I realized I wasn't slowing down and pressed harder on them. There was some jerking and it felt like I was hopping up the road. My vehicle never slowed down at all. Needless to say, I crashed into the rear end of the stopped car. It caused major damage to my front end, and damage to the back of the other vehicle. Also, my airbag did not deploy. My vehicle is currently at the body shop waiting to be looked at, but they are estimating the cost at $8,000 or more in damage. I really feel angry about this because I am a cautious driver, and I feel this accident was not my fault. I feel the brakes on my van did not function properly.

The contact states shas been having problems with brakes since April or May 2005. The brakes were squeaking and the rotors were warped. The dealership told the contact that the rotors were warped from the boat where the car had been shipped. They replaced the rotors. Also, they replaced the brakes and the pads. In addition, filed some kind of clips and dusted the pads. She has had the brakes worked on or repaired a total of five-six times since April. Right now the brakes were jerking badly when she stopped. The rubber piece that goes around the window to seal the window was bad. The piece would roll up either on the outside or the inside of the window.. they ordered a different piece three times and still have not had it fixed.

The consumer owns a 2005 Kia Sedona. She purchased the vehicle on 6-20-05, and twenty minutes after she drove the car off the lot, the radio quit working along with the ignition light illuminating. The consumer took the vehicle back to the dealership, and they could not service the car that day but made an appointment to come back on 6-22-05. The dealership kept the vehicle for three days. On 7-26-05 the brake went all the way to the floor and made a loud ticking noise while turning. The consumer took the vehicle to another dealership for repairs, and they resurfaced the brakes and the ignition. On 7-31-05 the brakes failed. The consumer tried to pump the brakes and they would not catch. To keep from hitting the vehicle in front, she veered to the left and ran onto the median, causing two blow outs on the driver's front and rear. The consumer had the vehicle towed to aaa, and they replaced one of the tires and placed the spare on the vehicle. There where no injuries in this accident. Also, one of the tires in the accident looked as if someone had taken a knife and cut the tire. The cut was so clean that the dealership refused to repair the tire or the rim. The consumer had to buy a new tire and rim. On 8-18-05 the van was taken back to Kia, . the consumer was given a rental car. The consumer had gotten the vehicle back on August 28, 2005. On 8-19-05 the consumer received a recall letter concerning the gas pedal and braking problems. (11/30/05) the emission light had come on and smoke was seen coming from under the vehicle, there was a loud ticking sound heard when turning the steering and a coil was repaired as a result, the grease seal leaked and there was a hesitation when the vehicle kicked into gear.
