The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and the contact was unable to utilize the front driver side door. The failure and current mileage was 66,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Kia Sedona. While the vehicle was parked and the key was still in the ignition, the doors automatically locked. The engine was still running. The contact was unable to access the vehicle without calling for auto assistance. The contact was displeased to discover that there was an automatic door lock mechanism. He was concerned that if there were a baby or senior citizen in the vehicle when the failure occurred, they could possibly be injured. The VIN and failure mileage were unavailable.
