car caught fire car caught fire

This was a non-collision car fire that occurred on July 18, 2020.

Kia does not want to pay for any damages stating that they did not have any problems with Kia Rio related car fires. The vehicle was not available for Kia to complete an inspection and State farm no longer has the vehicle available for inspection, so Kia does not want to claim liability. I really can't understand that as several of their cars are blowing up.

My daughter was injured, lost property and was unable to operate her business due to this fire. State Farm only paid $5,000. 00 for the car being a total loss and only paid for the belongings of my mother as the car belonged to my mother and my daughter was driving the car in Texas.

My daughter could have been killed if her sister had not been driving behind her and called her to yell for Danielle to pull over because her care was on fire. The flames were coming from underneath the car.

I guess, we'll just have to let a judge decide what happens next.

Thank you.

While my fiance was driving the car, she came to stop at a red light and another driver got her attention and told her to get out of the car because it was smoking beneath where the engine is located. As soon as she got out of the car the engine caught fire and within minutes the whole car was practically engulfed in flames. We only had the car for 13 months and had no issues with it, got regular maintenance work and everything. The car fire was extremely random and the car was totaled. Now Kia is trying to deny liability for the car AND only want to reimburse us for what personal belongings were lost inside the car. They sent people to look at the car and said the cause of the fire was undetermined. This whole process has been a pain in the ass for my fiance and I.
