Vehicle would hesitate while accelerating to freeway speeds, usually 40-45 mph. On several occasions the vehicle would die, requiring neutral start (manual transmission). On one occasion the vehicle needed to be coasted to a freeway shoulder, but started shortly thereafter, and hobbled to 40 mph, before stalling. Ultimately drove straight to dealership. Unable to reproduce, they replaced Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) under warranty (59987 miles). The problem returned inside 100 miles, and the vehicle was returned under warranty, yet over 60000 miles, and the problem was reproduced after 3-5 business days (and 1/4 tank of fuel). They replaced the Intake Manifold and Intake Manifold Gasket, as they were unable to correct a significant vacuum leak at high RPMs. The issue becomes noticeable over 45 mph due to the small motor running high RPMs, even at that low speed.
That replacement fixed the problem completely, and no issues returned up to 80000 miles, when the front inner brake pads fell apart.
