This POS has been burning oil for months and months and Kia has offered no solution whatsoever.
So, the check engine light has been on this car since I bought it in 2021. We took it to the Kia dealership as soon as it came on, and we were told it was a gas cap problem. "The car thinks the gas cap is open, so the light is coming on." Total horse*. They got it to turn off, but it came right back a few days later. Trusting the Kia people (stupid, I know) I kept driving the car; check engine light glowing for nearly 3 years. Well, clearly something is wrong with the engine!
It's clear to anyone who has owned this car that Kia put the same engine that was recalled from the 2019 into the 2020, but they refuse to cover repairs since "these aren't being recalled."
I took this car to the Kia dealership and was told, "Either keep putting oil in it when it needs it (A QUART A WEEK) or drive it until it starts knocking." Apparently, the knocking is a serious enough issue that they'll work on, but they won't have any part of it until I completely *
my engine up. I hate trading it in and letting some poor schmoe take on this burden, but I don't really have a choice.I will never, EVER buy a Kia again.
