I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding my 2019 Kia Optima SX, which began experiencing excessive oil consumption around 80,000 miles, needing an additional quart every 1,000 miles. Recently, the engine has also started knocking, confirming significant internal damage. Despite my attempts to seek assistance from Kia, I have been refused any support or resolution, even though the issue clearly requires an engine replacement.

This experience has been extremely frustrating. The engine issues in the Optima model are evidently so prevalent and well-known that dealerships have refused to test-drive my vehicle for trade-in value, rendering it essentially worthless. I strongly recommend other owners and potential buyers to avoid this model entirely due to the severe and costly issues that arise far too early in its lifespan.

I am requesting that Kia take responsibility for these widespread engine issues and provide a replacement or suitable repairs. Given the vehicle’s rapid devaluation and safety concerns, a prompt response and solution are needed.
