I received the product improvement letter from Kia and scheduled the installation at a local Kia dealer. After the installation I drove the car to work and in 15 min of driving on the highway the car went into limp mode, the engine light came on, the car lost acceleration power, and it began sputtering as if it was running out of gas. I was in the middle of the highway, cars were zooming past me, i was so afraid i would be hit, I immediately knew what was going on, it was the KSDS product improvement that was just installed. I managed to turn on my hazard lights and get off at the next exit.
I parked the car and immediately called Kia for roadside assistance and they sent someone to tow the car back to the dealer. Now I had no way home from work, I had to take a Uber clear across town to get home. Then I had to pay to rent a car to go back and forth to work, and I don't know how many days the dealer will have the car.
When I called the dealer for an update, the service dept said they are trying to trace the wire and if not they may have to REPLACE THE WHOLE ENGINE" My car was purchased new and I've had no problems with it until Kia demanded my vehicle get the product improvement KSDS. Now it's costing me everyday to rent a car at $50.00 a day or Uber for $30.00 a day. I'm beyond angry.
