I have appointment today at Kia. The service rep said it may be covered under my warranty but not sure, may need approval. The crack is a straight line and is starting to curve, right above passenger airbag. Totally not from sun, it is too deliberate. Also concerned that airbag may not deploy properly if needed OR crack worsens and airbag deploys while normal driving because casing is compromised. Will update after results. I read blogs and other 2016 Kias had this issue, but couldn’t find any resolutions.

Update from Sep 2, 2021: I picked up my car from Kia today. It was still under warranty and I gave them a list of items, including not only the dash, the driver door fabric pulling away, passenger back window not working and passenger side mirror not closing when locked. Kia installed new door panel, new dash, new motor in window and new mirror. All was done with a smile. If your kia is under warranty and you have issues, I encourage you to take car in and tell them, it probably will be covered!
