Shortly after buying my 3 year old Kia Optima with 32,000 miles, the rear end of the car began making creaking and popping noises every time I'd get in and out of the car. Over the past few thousand miles since noticing the noise, it seems to be progressively getting worse. It's very annoying! My car looks great and I take care of it, so it's a bit embarrassing to get out of my car at any store and hear these loud creaking and popping noises. The noises are not detectable while driving, thankfully. It would drive me nuts! I had Kia inspect the car for the source of the noise and they came back to me saying "It's suspension noise." I asked them what they could do to fix it under warranty and they told me "Nothing." Their only solution was to replace the rear shocks at my expense. I found this to be unacceptable. Beside, I can't afford to have the car fixed at my expense. Since it's not a safety issue, just annoying, I haven't worried about it. I just cringe everytime I enter or exit the car. SQEEEK...POP!
