My check engine light goes on and does not go off. I had the car scanned 3 times. The scan told me that the oxygen sensors and evap canister needed to be fixed. I had to have the car towed to a mechanic I have used in the past. He kept the scan from the auto parts store and told me that it was the battery and "a couple of belts". $263.00 later, I had my car back and the check engine light back on. I was told that it would go off by itself.
I had it scanned again and the scan said that it was the front # 2 sensor bank 1 and #1 sensor bank 2. $475.00 later and I got the car back. The very next day, I had to bring it back because the check engine light was on again. I brought it back to the mechanic again and was told that it was a "fluke" The check engine light comes back on for say a week, goes back on and that has been what it was. The car has just stopped and was hard to restart and every time I fill up with gas ( of course, I have to shut the car off) The car stalls and dies and then I have to vroom vroom a couple of times. This has happened the last five times I filled up with gas. I have gone to different gas stations and it still happens.
This is maddening and I am tired of being told that it is nothing and then having issues.
My car will probably not pass the annual emission test. Some of the speculation is that all or the codes have not been cleared. This is beyond ridiculous and makes it difficult for me to trust the car.
