I purchased this vehicle because I started commuting 60 miles to work and 60 miles home and wanted a car with a high fuel economy. I was aware that mileage would be less for highway driving. When I first purchased this car brand new, the mileage on fill up was 494 per tank, and I did track for the first month I was averaging 45-49 miles per gallon. However, the gas millage has decreased over the 7 months I have owned this car and my driving has not changed, I drive 60 miles to work and 60 miles home from work 3 times a week. I did notice the largest drop in estimated miles per gallon on a trip taken in Sept. where the estimated millage went down to 436 miles per fill up. My latest trip to the gas station, the millage has gone down to 425 miles per fill up and I am getting an average of 36 miles per gallon.
I do not understand why there is such a significant drop in fuel economy. This is a 14 mpg drop in less than 7 months and its frustrating because the service at Kia in Omaha is trying to tell me it is because of my driving. I drive it the same every week. I do not know what the solution is but there has to be some type of defect in the fuel system.
