This vehicle will randomly shut down while it is in operation. It does not throw a code, and there is absolutely no warning sign that it will do this (no smoke, odor, noise... NOTHING!!) It does this periodically and in any weather condition or at any speed. It is incredibly unpredictable when it will happen. It doesn't do this all the time but, when it does, there will be multiple instances of it with each occurrence. One day, it did this 13 times within a less than two mile stretch. I honestly can't tell you when it actually started doing this, but it we have had over 30 occurrences of it doing this! (When I say occurrence, I am defining it as experiences of it doing this while driving, and including multiple shut down during one trip of driving it somewhere).
It is not throwing codes, so our local Kia dealership (Kia of Alliance, OH) is stating that there is nothing wrong with this vehicle. However, it has shut down in the middle of an intersection at least twice, causing my husband and I to almost get into a wreck! (I thank God that the other drivers at the intersections mentioned were paying attention.) My husband absolutely forbids me to drive this car out of fears for my safety. I have reached out to Kia Corporation's Consumer Affairs line, and they are brushing me off. We need a reliable vehicle!! This problem is not in our heads!
