On my way home from work, the low pressure indicator came on. When I arrived home, I stopped to check the pressure. When I attempted to twist the cap off of the valve stem, the entire post twisted off of the base. The valve stem had cracked in half from corrosion, rapidly deflating the tire. I called the dealership, but was advised that there was no way to just replace the valve stem, and so I was required to replace the entire sensor that was still functioning. This was over $200 at the dealership.
