- Summary
- Fuel Filler Cap Tether Too Long Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find that one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) have been set: ?P04EC - EVAP System Large Leak Detected - Fuel Tank Side. ? P04EE - EVAP System Very Small Leak Detected - Fuel Tank Side. Customers may also comment the following: ? There is a "Check Gas Cap" message in the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). NOTE: The above condition is caused from an air leak through the fuel filler cap and fuel filler neck seal, because the fuel filler cap tether is caught between both. This bulletin involves removing the fuel filler cap tether and replacing it with a shorter tether.
