My Wrangler has been in the local Jeep dealers shop for over a month and it took two weeks waiting to get an appointment for service just to get them to look at it. This is so crazy because Jeep is not sending the parts needed to fix the Wrangler and they do not appear to care at all. I just bought this new 2023 Jeep a few months ago and for $50000 dollars I think they could at least fix it in at timely manner.
The drive belt frayed and broke because the belt tensioner locked up and let the belt burn off. When the drive belt frayed it tore all the insulation off of the main charging wire between the alternator and the battery. This frayed main wire apparently sagged enough to touch the alternator case and short out the alternator. The local dealer here in Ashland, OH puts the blame on Jeep for not sending all the parts yet to complete the repair. This will most likely be my last Jeep product because I bought a new Wrangler with idea being I needed a dependable vehicle to drive but a 6 week plus trip to the repair shop leaves a real bad taste in my mouth. It appears once the sale is made Jeep could care less if they give you the service to keep you on the road. This tensioner fail should not have happened to begin with and I am still waiting to get it back I know things happen but they could have at least offer a loaner to drive while they make me wait months to fix my Jeep.
Update from Mar 28, 2023 IT NOW HAS BEEN 40 DAYS IN THE DEALER SHOP AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE BY JEEP CORPORATE.
Update from Apr 8, 2023: UPDATE- AS of April 7th 2023 the Wrangler is still at the service dept. and now it is day 50 with nothing being done by Jeep Corporate to fix this undriveable warranty issue. This should show everyone that once the sale is made Jeep Corporation could care less if actually fixes your new Jeep under their warranty.
