- Summary
- Flash: Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module Updates This bulletin involves reprogramming the ABS module with the latest available software. Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find that one of the following Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) has been set: B1783-01 - Stop Lamp Control - General Electrical Failure. The customer may also comment or note that the DTC set after the installation of a Mopar or an aftermarket trailer brake controller.The 12 volt back feed of the aftermarket trailer brake controller into the redundant connection between the Body Control Module (BCM) and the Anti Lock Brake Module (ABS) is causing a design intent diagnostic detection of the stop lamps.Software enhancement includes:Removal of the warning lamp associated with this DTC so an aftermarket trailer brake controller can be used.
