Was sitting at a stoplight when I heard a popping sound and the window began to crack all the way across (left to right). Nothing hit the windshield was just random. The crack appears to be internal as I cannot feel it on the outside or inside of the vehicle. I did talk to the Jeep dealer about a possible warranty but they said that Chrysler is not currently warranting the issue. They indicated they have had other customers with the same issue and Chrysler keeps denying the warranty. They said it affects the Gladiator as well as the Wrangler. This should be a recall for safety issues.

My windshield has cracked 4 times in 2 years. I have talked to Jeep and basically they say it is the windshield design that causes it to be prone to surface chips that you cannot see and then when it gets cold outside it cracks badly. Therefore, even though they have "diagnosed" this as a design flaw, you would think they would do something. But no, it's my responsibility. I am 42 and have never used my car insurance until this vehicle. Now, my insurance company is threatening to drop me due to too many claims. This vehicle, even though I love driving it has become an insurance and money nightmare.

I was told by someone who knows a person that works at Jeep that the 2018-2019 Jeep Wranglers have a different windshield design that they won't ever use again due to these issues. That is obviously not something they would admit to owners though.
