Additional service procedure steps after replacing the steering damper: Verify the correct orientation of the steering damper. With the vehicle on the ground, it is required to turn the steering wheel for five lock to lock turns ( ?Full Left ? Full Right ? Center? OR ?Full Right ? Full Left ? Center? counted as 1) at 1 rotation/sec to prime the steering damper and purge out the air. NOTE: It is important to prime the new damper by rotating the steering wheel five full lock to lock turns to purge any trapped air out.
