The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to aventura Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (2198 North East 163 street, North miami beach, Florida 33162, (305)-493-5000) to be repaired under manufacturer communication number: 9004166 (damper, steering) however, the repair failed to fix the issue. While the contact was driving at 70 mph, the vehicle vibrated and shook uncontrollably. The contact reduced the vehicle speed and the failure was corrected. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 4,525.
This vehicle was bought used on 5/17 it was the dealerships rental before.driving for the first time on the highway on 6/19 at highway speed vehicle had sudden death wobble it was scary feeling the whole front end of the Jeep shake side to side. Made it home safely and saw the V41 recall was installed incorrectly. I took it to the dealership once they were open on 6/22 and was told it was death wobble and given a rental car. On 6/24 I was told the part needed is on backorder. Including a picture showing the part was installed wrong. They also said it was installed on 9/19 when the updated instructions were sent out on. 6/19 and clearly managed to install incorrectly. This is a safety issue. The steering damper fix is just that a bandaid not a actual fix at all since there are reports of it happening after it's installed. My Jeep is all stock.
When on freeway at 60-70 mph, steering wheel begins to vibrate violently. Once speed is reduced, it stops. Has happened 4 times within last 6 months, once while being towed behind motorhome. Also described by many others as "death wobble".
While driving 55 mph or over, on highway, the vehicle started shaking violently and was unable to control vehicle until the speed dropped to 35 mph. I have already had the recall done to the vehicle to replace the steering damper and the problem is still continuing to occur any time I hit a small bump or crack in pavement I have called Jeep to have the vehicle repaired once again still waiting after a month to have a call back to have repaired meanwhile the vehicle is not safe to drive over 50 mph I also have seen another complaint identical to mine from another Jeep owner in Ohio.

While driving at 60 mph over S suspension joint on a bridge, the vehicle started shaking violently and was unable to control vehicle until the speed dropped to 35 mph. I have already had the recall done to the vehicle to replace the stabilizer bar, and the problem is still continuing to occur any time I travel over an expansion joint or even a bump in the roadway.
I have been to Dodge several times for these issues they always tell me nothing wrong with vehicle. The car pulls to one side when driving its very wobbly. Also I have taken it in because the Jeep is using up coolant too fast. They topped off coolant for me less than a week later coolant reservoir is empty. They tell me nothing wrong no issue just known to happen with Jeep.
After receiving the recall for steering damper to fix the steering wheel wobble when driving over a bump at highway speeds, I have gotten the wobble twice now. Recall was approx 5,131 miles. Wobble incident occurred once before recall at 3,000 miles. Wobble has also occurred at approx 5,500 miles and approx 5,800. It is a violent wobble that makes me uncomfortable and susceptible to an accident especially at highway speeds while driving to and from work.
While driving 70 on interstate 95 the vehicle started to shake immensely. Had to immediately bring the vehicle to a speed of 35 to stop. This almost caused an accident with the vehicle behind as they had to brake and veer into another lane to avoid it. I am in palm beach fl and will be bringing to dealer right away. The vehicle is a 2019 with 13K miles which I just purchased last week.

The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 400.
Ongoing isue with death wobble brought back to the dealer for a third time and they changed out the steering dampener assuring me that this would solve the issue while driving at 50mph on rte 290 auburn MA vehicle hit a bump on the highway and started the whole Jeep shaking and causing an unsafe condition
After going to dealership and getting death wobble fixed vehicle by removing and reinstalling the steering dampener the correct way and exhibited the same issue and once again almost caused an accident vehicle travelling at 50 mph on highway 290 holy cross corner and vehicle started to shake and wobble uncontrollably had to slow down to 30mph to make the problem go away called dealership and they stated that they would need to order a new steering dampener
While driving at highway speed 50mph on rte 290 at college square corner vehicle felt like wheels were going to fall off lot of shaking and almost lost control very dangerous slowed down to 30mph and vibrations subsided this has happend once before on same day Jeep Wrangler has 500 miles on it dealer "putnam Jeep" has been called and will be bringing Jeep into shop asap
When traveling around 65 mph on a chicagoland expressway, the vehicle hit a small uneven portion of the roadway (I.e. small bump or hole) and vehicle started the known "Wrangler death wobble", "...a byproduct of the Wrangler's solid front axle design, and can cause the steering wheel to violently shake after hitting a bump or other road imperfection at higher speeds..." so, I had to slow down while in the third lane from the right, continue to slow down (I.e. around 40 mph) while changing lanes to the right, and after about 30 seconds the wobble stopped and then I had full control of the vehicle again. This appears to be a very dangerous situation with the vehicle. 5,743 miles on the vehicle.
Second attempt at recall by dealer, dealer is claiming faulty parts by fca. Within 12 miles of driving the Jeep after recall was completed for a second time death wobble is back. Happens when going over bridges on highway at around 72 mph. Exterior temp 31. Shake happens till speed is dropped to below 60 mph.
After recall for death wobble, repair made condition worse, at highway speed when hitting bumps in road, requires dropping speed to below 50 mph to get shaking to stop
At 70mphon the highway, Wrangler was shaking itself apart, it became extremely difficult to control the vehicle (Wrangler 2019 two door). Hitting a bump (road and bridge shift of material). Had to come to a complete stop for it to stop to extreme vibration. This issue happened once and dealer state " that it was fixed". whoever on 9 Jan 2020 driving on the highway it happened three more times (three times worst then the first time).lucky that no one got injured or killed and car damages. This Wrangler is an unsafe vehicle
My teenage daughter at 55 mph lost control of steering on interstate 99. She described it as a flat tire. Upon inspection- nothing flat. I as her mother drove- sane conditions. She almost wrecked and caused a series of vehicles behind her to do so as well. It is a problem our local Jeep dealer has tried to repair. Recall performed and yet still present. It's a very very unsafe vehicle. She's in college and unable to drive to class. The death wobble is infect there. I will sue whomever if anything happens to her or anyone else. I love the Jeep products. This has less then 6000 miles on it. I hand another one sahara. 2019- sane bull beginnnjng at 3790 miles. I am seeking a lawyer. Both my older teens are in danger and it's not right. We paid cash in full and the Jeep hv to sit here!
Once I hit a speed of 70mph on the highway and if I hit the slightest bump, my entire Jeep starts to shake violently. If I keep my foot on the gas at my steady speed, it just gets worse. The only thing I can do is take my foot off the gas, hold on for dear life, and hope I don't crash bc at that point I have no control. I cannot merge into other lanes to try to make it off the highway for safety and I can't do anything accept wait for the violent shaking to stop. Also to hope all vehicles surrounding me that are going high speeds are paying attention since my speed drastically changes and they don't crash into me. I have two toddlers and they scream and their heads are jolted from side to side in their car seats as I wait for it to stop. This happens almost, if not all, any time I go above 70 miles an hour and there is a bump in the road. It has not been one time only. I no longer can drive my brand new Jeep Wrangler on the highway and I do not take my toddlers in the car on the highway anymore. I am a single mother and I committed to the large monthly auto loan payments to ensure my kids would be safe while driving and I would have a dependable vehicle. I have neither but I still have the large monthly payment.
I own. A 2019 Jeep Wrangler jv. With 17000 miles on it. No modification while driving in the freeway at 70 miles a hour just pass a bride hit a bride strapping bump the Jeep was almost out control extreme shaking of the steering wheel and vehicle. I tense up for fears of losing control I have to slow down to 30 mph for it to stop. This scary.. when you have you family with you.
