Our 2019 Jeep recently experienced the -??death rattle-?? where the steering and suspension shake violently at speeds 65 mph and above. This recently occurred on a 70 mph freeway and nearly caused a sideswipe accident with a large semi as I was thrown from my travel lane. The Jeep owners forum (and Fiat Chrysler America) know about this issue with the steering dampener, but neither the NHTSA nor FCA has seen fit to issue a warning or recall. Our Jeep is never taken off-road and is under 60,000 miles. We are the original owners, and the Jeep is currently with the dealer.

while driving on Interstate Highyway aproximately 65 MPH and passing over a bridge the front end started shaking violently. I hit the brakes and it finally stopped as I slowed. It did this 6 times on the same trip and has repeated multiple times. I took it to the dealer and told them it had done this when I first bought it and they said they would have to evalaute it. When I first bought the car it had 19k miles on it with this death wobble. They said it needed a recall accomplished and it never happened again. Now the car has 71k miles on it and it is happening again. The dealer says they have to order a part. I believe the car is unsafe to drive on an interstate with this condition. Also owners with similar Jeeps have to be aware that this condition which was fixed with a recall can return after so many miles. They will not tell me the component or part number of the component.

I have a 2019 jeep wrangler with under 50,000 miles. The steering damper is defective. I was experiencing what is known as the death wobble. I searched my vin for a recall. No recall is associated with my vin number, although there is a recall for 2019 jeep wranglers. I took my jeep into the dealer to have them inspect. They told me that the steering damper is bad and needs to be replaced. They suggested using an after marker sterling damper because the Oem part is garbage. I paid over $400 to replace the steering damper. I have called and chatted online with Jeep about this concern. Nothing is being done because my vin is not part of the recall even though I had a defective steering damper. The death wobble was getting really bad and I was afraid of getting into an accident. I believe jeep is being reckless and negligent with this lack on action.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at approximately 70 MPH, the front passenger-??s side wheel started shaking violently, and the vehicle was maneuvered over to the side of the road to be inspected. The vehicle was taken to the residence. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the screw hex flange head, bearing intermediate shaft support, shaft steering column, and bolt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred two weeks later. The vehicle was taken to the same dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the same parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred approximately 18 months later. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 25,911.

ABS light came on, car will stop on its own while driving 70 miles an hour and kill the acceleration. steering will go out. speedometer will not work. check engine light will come on. gear shift gets stuck in place. This car is a major safety hazard that Jeep has ignored. I have gotten stuck on the side of the road on bridges, highways side streets due to the fact the gear shift will not move out of park and all the lights come on in the car.

While driving at interstate speed and passing over an irregular surface the jeep started to shimmy and I later found out it was called "Death Wobble". The jeep started to wonder across the lanes of the highway and I had to slow to 45 mph to stop the shimmy and get control of the vehicle, I assume the the problem is in the steering or the front suspension. After talking to a mechanic I found out that a recall has already been performed to replace the steering vibration damper. The mechanic could not find any loose or damaged front end parts upon inspection. Since the initial incident the shimmy has happened multiple times at slower and slower speeds. There was no prior warning by the jeep instrument panel.

I was stopped waiting for traffic to clear to make a right turn into oncoming traffic. I started going to the nearest lane I had available. When I was half way into the turn, the power steering went out. I had to react fast as there was a vehicles coming and due to the power steering failing it caused me to merge slightly into the middle lane. Luckily the other vehicle that was going to crash me changed lanes. So I pulled over and turned off the jeep, turned it back on and it drove normal. I have taken it to multiple shops and they stated pcm is okay battery is okay but they cannot find what nearly put my 2 year old son in an accident.

It started about 4 months ago and continues to get worse and more frequent but it starts shaking and wobbling violently at high speeds especially if you hit a bump it-??s almost impossible to keep it in the road. It-??s very scary and dangerous. After googling I heard about the death wobble which Chrysler has recalled some of the same models as mine. Any information or help you could give us would be appreciated. It also just started overheating when sitting idle probably not related but don-??t understand why mine is having so many problems it-??s not old enough

Had damper replaced due to death wobble at 39k miles under extended warranty related to FCA lawsuit. At 59k miles experienced same death wobble and nearly crashed at highway speeds. Took it in and they said the cause was the tie rods were bad, damper was within threshold, but would replace it too as a courtesy and abundance of caution. Wouldn-??t do damper replacement without tie rod fix though. Didn-??t have damper and would take 5 days to get in (1 day for tie rod part), but when I stated I wanted to repair it they miraculously came up with all the parts and had it finished before tie rod part even showed up. My complaint is that the original FCA lawsuit where they replaced damper was a bandaid for the real problem which is the tie rods. I paid the $2500 but will be pushing this up the chain of command. I know the lawsuit alluded to the damper not being the root of the problem but a cheaper fix for Jeep. The entire experience has been shady at best. I bought this 2019 jeep wrangler and it is still under manufacturer warranty on the transmission and the steering damper. The transmission in my car was leaking bad and I took it to the jeep dealership and they did not know what was wrong or how to fix it. They are all incompetent and stupid and unprofessional and know nothing about cars also the recall on the steering damper was done 2 years ago and now I had to replace it because the car was dangerously shaking very bad. The transmission is still under manufacturer warranty and I took it to another shop and he fixed the leak in the transmission and he said it-??s it-??s the cooler line connector in the transmission so this repair that cost me 478 dollars should be refunded to me from Jeep manufacturer since it-??s still under warranty

When driving at speeds of approximately 45+ the front end for no apparent reason begins to violently shake back & forth making the vehicle impossible to control. You must immediately put on the brakes to slow the vehicle until the wobbling stops. This has progressively gotten worse. It-??s what is referred to as the Jeep death wobble. It is in the shop now waiting to be looked at.
