The steering wheel is "loose" and requires excessive movement before any noticeable effect in vehicle direction. This happens at all speeds. Vehicle drifts/wanders (does not drive straight) at freeway speeds (50+ mph). Very difficult to stay in lane on the freeway!

While driving vehicle home from dealership after purchase I noted a dead spot in the steering of about 3 to 4 inches where there is no steering response to movement of the steering wheel and the vechicle was dangerous to drive as it was extremely difficult to keep it in my lane. I have worked with Jeep cares and have opened 2 cases, 58775069, 59043175 and have been to 3 different dealerships trying to get this fixed. The 1st 2 dealerships drove the vehicle on and stated there was no problem, this is how Jeep are designed. The 3rd dealership drove it with me in the car on the same type of roads I drive (2 lane country roads with no shoulder. They noted that the alignment was off and re-aligned the steering. This did help with the exteme swing the vehicle would take on its own into oncoming traffic or toward the shoulder but did nothing to resolve the 3" to 4" deadspot in the steering. I will be opening a 3rd Jeep cares case this week. This dead spot causes what I would call "driver induced oscillation" as minor of fine steering corrections are exaggerated with the 3" to 4" deadspot so you inadvertantly overcorrect and then have to re-correct the otherway again thru a 3" to 4" deadspot. The vehicle is a danger to myself and others on the road. Jeep seems to be trying to avoid the buyback or lemon law by stating there is no problem the vehcile is designed to have a 3" to 4" dead spot in the steering. The vehicle extremely difficlut to keep in its lane while driving on 2 lane country roads at standard road speeds of 35 to 50 miles per hour, with no shoulder.

The steering is loose, when driving on a freeway at speeds over 60 mph the steering is very sloppy and the vehicle "wanders" inside the lane side to side as you have to continually correct it. This is unsafe.

2019 Jeep Wrangler 2dr. Jeep can not hold a straight line. Requires constant correction input. When correcting it will start to travel in the corrected direction and will continue to travel in that direction until correcting in the other direction. Have taken it to the diealership 1X and told there is nothing wrong with it. Technician comments on the paperwork "vehicle drove fine and not wonder all over the road". after getting mine back, test drove another 2019 and did not experience the same issue. It was able to hold a straight line with little to no input. Have drove other new Jeep that did not have the wonder issue. Note the other Jeep have had Michelin or Goodyear tires. Mine has Bridgestone. I have been told that this is just the way they drive. I have owned 7 Jeep Wrangler and none have drove like this. My wife has a 2018 and does not have the wandering issue. This happens at all speeds.

Excessive play in steering/ wandering on road, constantly correcting steering to keep Jeep in my lane. When between vehicles on highway or just driving down the road I need to keep correcting the steering to keep in my lane. Had a few close calls between big rigs on highway. I'm concerned for my family and my safety driving this new 2019 Jeep rubicon 2 door. The Jeep is all stock no lift kit. This has been happening since I took possession of the car on April 1st 2019

I just experienced the death wobble on a highway in columbus Ohio. I was driving around 65 and hit a small bump and the car started shaking violently. It did not stop after about 60 seconds so I pulled over to the berm. It scared me to death. I felt like I had no control. I started back up and made it safely to my destination. I plan to call local dealer since I am away from where I purchased it originally.

Dead space in the steering wheel, 2' of play in the wheel where input is put in and no response. Loose steering and drift while driving. Unable to maintain a straight line without constant steering correction. Very noticeable at freeway speeds as the vehicle will want to drift left or right immediately after correcting steering. Constantly have to give steering inputs, sawing at the wheel. Occurs all the time. More noticeable at higher speeds. Feels unsafe to operate. Jeep claims this is normal and how the vehicle was designed.

While driving vehicle wether on street or highway, the vehicle tends to wander from lane to lane and from middle of the street to shoulder with alot of imput to the steering back and forth. Brought the vehicle to the dealership twice and I paid for an alignment that seemed to do absolutely nothing. The dealership test drove it and said it was normal but I know this not to be true it is a safety matter that needs to be corrected or it will lead to an accident.

This vehicle was purchased new from a dealer 5 hours from my home.the drive home included some 2 lane highways but mostly interstate. Controlling the Jeep and keeping it on the road home was an exhausting and concentrated effort. The steering was everywhere and I'm sure I looked like a drunk driver to most people. Today I have driven the Jeep to my local dealer only to be told by the female service writer that the Jeep will learn my driving after about 1000 miles.she stated she knows this because she has this same style Jeep. There is no way this is normal steering.

On 2 separate occasions, at highway speeds, my 2019 Jeep Wrangler jl steering locked and made it very difficult/almost impossible to turn in which I cam E very close to crashing into the side wall 2X. Took it to the dealer on 7/24/19 and was told that there "were bolts loose" and was causing the issue and should be fine B/C thy test drove the vehicle for ~40 miles. The steering locked again on 8/7/19. I went to the dealership again for the fix and they cannot replicate "the code" and do not have a fix for it. I have contacted Jeep customer service and I'm not getting the attention needed for such a critical issue. I am afraid to drive my car and looking for a replacement vehicle from Jeep but not receiving timely cooperation. Lastly, on 8/4/19, at highway speeds, my Wrangler performed the dreaded "death wobble." The dealer is changing the vehicle damper but upon my research, a damper only "masks" the issue and there S a bigger issue at play. For reference, my vehicle was bought brand new in March 2019 and only has ~1,400 miles on it and has never been off-roaded. Lastly, all modifications to the vehicle are under warranty and were installed by the dealership (eg. 33" tires)

We ordered a brand new 2019 Wrangler sahara to our liking. I was so excited to drive it home from our dealership about an hour away from our home! that was until I actually started driving it. There is a big dead spot in the steering as you and Jeep already have been made aware! it's all over blogs and your site. It was a very scary experience on the highway, actually white knuckled it all the way home. I probably should have simply drove it back to the dealership and left it there. I had the service manager come and pick it up at my house as I was not willing to drive it back to them for fear of crashing or causing an extremely horrific accident! they did come and get the Jeep and drove it back, however they hit bumper to bumper traffic and did not have the chance to experience the unsafe steering issue. They did change the front steering damper and claimed that no shimmy present after their test drive. Not possible! I am not blaming fitzpatrick's of ansonia for this I am holding Jeep solely responsible for this dangerous issue. I guess my question to you is when will Jeep be held responsible to remove these vehicles from the streets. I feel that a $53K Jeep shouldn't be scary to drive. I have no other choice to to use this vehicle as I don't have a spare as I'm sure that most don't! I filled out a survey that Jeep sent me asking for a phone call for this matter and have yet to hear back from them. Please help!

Very loose steering. It appears a recall has been completed on my vehicle (Chrysler V41) to fix this issue, but the issue is still evident. Steering wheel has too much play in it when driving, especially at highway speeds.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Wrangler. While driving, the contact heard a loud popping noise and the entire console screen failed. The contact stopped and restarted the vehicle, but the entire console screen still failed to function. The contact was still able to drive the vehicle. The contact called cherry hill Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (1708 w, NJ-70, cherry hill, NJ 08002, (856) 471-1058) and they asked when she could bring in the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that after the vehicle being parked for two days at an airport lot, the vehicle was later started and the entire console screen failed and the power steering seized. As a result, the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a telephone pole. The contact's son was medically checked out with an ice pack to the face but no ambulance services were needed. A police report was filed. The front of the vehicle was damaged and it was towed with the rear wheels being locked making it difficult to tow to a tow yard. The manufacturer filed a case and would have an investigator inspect the vehicle. The manufacturer stated it would take two to four weeks until they have some findings on the issue and had not offered a loaner vehicle. The failure mileage was 848.

The steering is very loose (lots of play), wanders back and forth in lane and is overly sensitive to input - constantly darting back and forth as if on ice. This occurs most when on rough / wet pavement, on curves in construction zones, when large trucks pass, on windy days - it is very difficult to control above 40 mph. Dealer has been responsive and helpful - we have replaced track bar, replaced tie rod bushings, updated steering control module, adjusted alignment, reduced air pressure in tires - all of which has helped reduce wander and improve control. But, still has some wander and is very sensitive. Replaced steering stabilizer with custom adjustable stabilizer, which I expect will eliminate wander and tighten / firm steering. But, I believe problem is defective steering gear / box, and settings in steering control module - which should be recalled and replaced. Needs firmer, tighter steering with less play. Vehicle is unsafe, steering issue is resolved. Consumer stated at this point it will be up to the mfr to see if they can eliminate it with upgraded steering box and steering control. Pending some action like that, for which I'm not going to press the dealer / mfr, "it is what it is" and we will just have to take extra care in driving it in construction zones, heavy traffic, rough pavement, and strong winds.

St. charles Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram sold me a brand new car and then I discovered there was a recall on it, issued a month before purchase. I was having problems with vehicle wandering and loose steering wheel with at least 2 inches of give. Difficult to maintain straight driving. Constant steering correction needed. It is in for the recall repair today, 13 days after purchase. Dealer did not take care of this recall nor did they inform me of it when I purchased the vehicle.
