I have a brand new 2019 Jeep JL 4 door Wrangler Sport that has less than 1000 miles. I noticed the problem right after purchase, driving home 2 homes from dealership. At first I thought it was just me after driving a Dodge Ram pickup for the last 10 years and figured it was a big difference in the steering. Took our first 4 hour trip and notice that the Jeep was pulling to the right and that there was a lot of play (2-4 inches) in the steering, and by the time I got done my driving I was exhausted. Took the Jeep into local Jeep dealership service to have checked. They determined that alignment was out of specs and fixed.

Took another 4 hour trip last weekend and the steering was worst. To keep Jeep driving in a straight line I had to keep steering wheel turned to left slightly. Whenever I tried to straighten the steering wheel the Jeep would drift to right again and steering had just as much or more play in it as before. Just took it back into service and they said they couldn't duplicate the problem and that it was probably just the "Crown in the Road" that was causing the problem. I came home and researched my problem and found this website where I see I'm not the only one with the problem. This seems to be a known issue that needs to be addressed and recalled to fix properly or there will be crashes and I pray to god no fatalities.

Driving on highway 880 in northern California, early this morning going to work, driving about 60 miles per hour, hit a bump in the highway, and Jeep started shaking uncontrollable. It preceded to a death wobble, and I had to reduce speed to bring vehicle in control.

Very frightening and it almost caused accident with vehicles following behind me. I had to slow my speed down to about 30 miles per hour, drive the Jeep to the slow lane to gain control of it.

I hate to think if my wife or daughter would have been driving the car. My wife drove the Jeep to Sacramento last month and reported the vehicle would not stay in the lane. It kept veering into the right lane. First thought it was the wind, but it was a clear day with no wind.

Called the dealership to schedule an appointment to have the Jeep looked at. Have an appointment tomorrow morning at 9:00am. After reading the other complaints of people that are haring the same problem and having the so-call problem fixed, I don't think my fix will work either. Looking to consult with Attorney also as the last person #28 is going to do.

From the start my 2019 wrangler had very poor handling. I can only describe it as dead spots in the steering. When driving straight the vehicle would veer to the left or right randomly. When I brought the Jeep to the dealer for other problems I asked if they could check the steering because I thought the alignment might be contributing to the handling as well as another problem I was having with the traction control dash light coming on. They told me they would reflash the computer which usually fixed the problem. I never got to see if the problem was fixed because the Jeep ended up being bought back by FCA for other problems.
