Wrangler UNL 6 cyl

  • Automatic transmission

I paid too much for this jeep for the motor and the transmission to be out.

Wrangler Willys 3.6L V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 5,100 miles

(Excuse the caps, it's copied from https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2017/JEEP/WRANGLER/SUV/4WD)

REVERSE WOULD JUMP OUT OF GEAR AND GRIND WHILE DRIVING IN GEAR EVERY TIME. THIS REQUIRED MANUALLY HOLDING IT DOWN TO REMAIN IN GEAR AND PROPERLY DRIVE IN THE REVERSE GEAR. FIELDS CJDR IN SANFORD, FL SAID I WOULD HAVE TO AGREE TO PAY +$1000 IN LABOR FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE THIS IF IT TURNED OUT NOT TO BE A VALID WARRANTY ISSUE. I DECLINED AND ACCEPTED LIVING WITH IT.

ON 12/05/2017, DURING NORMAL DRIVING SUDDENLY THE GEARSHIFT COULD NOT BE PUT INTO ANY GEAR AND THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED. MY BRAND NEW WRANGLER WITH 5000 MILES SAT AT THE DEALER FOR SERVICE FOR 115 DAYS WAITING ON TWO PARTS:

- PART: GEAR-REVERSE IDLER 5134496AA - PART: SYNCH-REVERSE 5134498AA

FCA FAILED TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO ME UNTIL 03/30/2018. FOUR MONTHS. NOT ONLY IS THAT UNACCEPTABLE, I WAS TREATED LIKE GARBAGE THROUGHOUT THE WAIT BY BOTH FCA AND THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

I HAVE FILED LEMON LAW PAPERWORKS AND HAVE A CASE (CUCURA v. FCA US LLC 2018-0160/ORL) AWAITING SCHEDULING.

FCA IS GOING TO BE GIVING ME EVERY PENNY BACK FOR THIS DEBACLE.

Wrangler Smokey Mountain 3.2L V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 11,000 miles

This time the transmission was failing completely, sounded like a diesel engine, between 1800 - 2500 RPM.

It was determined that the transmission had metal in it when they drained the fluid.

Found out now the dealership has 2 other Wranglers with Manual transmission issue like mine.

It is now February 8, 2018, my Jeep has been in the shop since January 5th and still awaiting the replacement transmission.

The other Jeep owner was told it would be March before they could get replacement parts to rebuild her Jeep transmission.

Love to hear how many other people with Jeep Wrangler 2017 manual transmissions are having problems as this appears to be a defective manufacture issue.
