Jeep appears to have known about the issue for some time but this seems to come in to problem about 40,000 miles which is past the warranty. It is clearly a manufacturer defect but FCA is saying it's out of warranty and the dealerships are denying any knowledge of the issue.
It starts by the heating system having low heat. The overfill will drip for a while and then over time the engine coolant system can be heard making odd noises when it first starts up. After about 20 miles of driving, it will start to overheat as the apparent sludge clogs the system.
I'm waiting for the dealership to see my vehicle and to see how Jeep replies to my direct inquiries. Otherwise I'm trading it in for a different manufacturer and blacklisting Jeep as a do not buy from.
