Was driving down the road when my engine started ticking. The check engine light came on so I pulled over. The engine shut off and tried to crank back up but would not. The engine would turn over but never crank. Had it towed to a car repair shop where they said we had a rod knocking and needed a new engine because it had a busted piston. We get regular oil changes and only have 135,000 miles on the jeep. Seems a little early to have to replace the whole engine but we did. The repair shop also said there are metal shavings in the intake that also needed to be replaced.

warranty got voided at 42,000 km because of a steel bumper that was deemed to be "heavily modified" according to one dealership. jeep was running like crap losing power on the highway to the point i had to come to a complete stop and accelerate again for it to catch up, then it would randomly stall out. this went on for a couple weeks then i just parked it as it was too much of a headache to deal with. about a month later i went to start it and it was running just fine, so i took it for a bit of a drive, shut it off and then went to restart it about 10 minutes later and it would crank and not start. so now its just a pile a scrap metal sitting in my driveway collecting dust that i am making ridiculous payments on and cant even use it.
