Wrangler Sport Pentastar 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 103,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I have a '14 JK with 103k and my check engine and ETC light came on, then a rough idle started - and then the engine stalled out. I was out of state 5 hours on the highway (with a full tank of gas). I had a lost of power, then a rough idle and then it completely stalled out and would not restart - and it was on a Sunday!!! My tow cost me $767 to get it home. My code reader is coming up with error code P0300 & P0304. I have changed out Cyl4 coil pack and still having the same rough idle and it still stalls out.

I'm not a happy camper. This is my third Jeep ('81 great CJ5, '88 poor, '14 great - until now).

I love my Jeep Wrangler - except when it dies while driving! It doesn't matter how much gas I have in it; it doesn't matter what speed I am going or the weather conditions. I am driving along & it just dies. Sometime my car will jerk - like the transmission misses a beat and then within 1 minute, it will die. Other times, it just dies. I have to try to get to the side of the road, put it in park, turn car off & then I can start it back up. This is SO dangerous!!! There is not always a place to drive to the side of the road - so there's no where to go! I took my Jeep back to the dealer where we bought the Jeep (brand new), put it on the tester, nothing showed up that anything was wrong, and I paid almost $300 for this.

They kept my Jeep for a few days for them to drive it & it didn't happen, so he told me it was in my head! Yeah, I was not impressed with that answer. I got it back from them & it would die again - no rhyme or reason why or when it would happen. I called the same guy again & then he admitted that this happens all the time to Jeep owners - but no recall has been issued so nothing they can do about it. Then my husband, who owns a 2012 Jeep Cherokee received a recall letter in the mail that there was a recall on his Jeep for this same thing happening to his car!!!

Hello! Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep - it happens to all your cars! Our daughter had a Chrysler Van - and she told me it happened to her too so they got rid of the van. As of now, I either have to live (or die) by it or sell it. How can I sell it knowing that this could kill whoever buys it??? Jeep - buy it back or take care of this! Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep engineers, you drive it & take the chance of getting in an accident or killed! Even though I love my Jeep, I am scared to drive it! :( HELP!!!!

Wrangler Rubicon 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,754 miles

The Jeep engine shut off while in an unpaved road twice. Down the hill the problem could have resulted in a serious accident. Took it to the warranty but they could not replicate the problem. Also the cruise control disengage in the highway if you get a bump.

Wrangler Unlimited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,300 miles

I bought this 2014 Jeep brand new, after only 3,000 miles the entire vehicle blacked out at a major Mountain intersection. As a result we were almost rear ended and T-boned at the same time. The following week I took the Jeep to the dealer, they kept it all day and stated they can't recreate the problem. I drove the Jeep off the lot only to have the same issue at the first traffic light. I managed to get it restarted when I put it into drive it died again. I finally was able to drive it back to Jeep, they've had it for a week now and they claim they can't recreate the issue.

I'm so disappointed in Jeep, we try to buy American made products and have found they really aren't what they should be. I am terrified to drive this vehicle in the mountains where I live, having this vehicle totally black out on a foggy icy mountain road may very involve me and someone else in a deadly crash. I hope this matter is taken seriously and is resolved in a timely manner before someone is killed.!!!!!

Wrangler Sport, Patriot Edition 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 82 miles

My vehicle shut off in the middle of traffic while my wife was driving four days after we purchased our brand new Wrangler. I have remained very calm about the issue, but am very dissapointed in this vehicle so far. I understand issues happen, but this can be very dangerous, just look at the recent recall for the Chevy Cobalts. My biggest complaint, outside of the saftey of this happening, is the lack of contact from Chrysler. I emailed them my issue on February 27th, and have gotten one email back saying that they due to the severity of my issue they will contact me via phone, but haven't heard anything yet. The dealership has been very helpful so far, and they're "85%" sure that the problem is fixed by replacing the transmission module.
