How stupid is it to put an oil pressure sensor (common failed component) buried under an intake manifold so it takes hours and hundreds of dollars to replace when in most cars it take 5 minutes??
Check engine light came on and then started noticing oil leaking from what appeared to be the rear main seal. Usually do the work myself but didn't have time to pull the upper and lower manifolds to replace the sensor, so I took it to a dealer. They said it was bad but of course they found out that the oil engine cooler was also leaking. $253.00 part that wasn't available, so I had to wait an extra day. I will never buy another cheap, I mean Jeep product. Stupid design, and cheaply made parts. I'll stick with Ford next time.
For a brand new Jeep it's annoying. Never had so many problems. Love the car, but so many annoying issues. Check engine light for an oil pressure sensor p0520 code. Warranty is done, didn't get the extended. Search about the issue and it's common. Why Chrysler hasn't fixed this issues? Obviously they are losing money like that and making American cars look bad.
My check engine light came on beginning of December 2014. Faulty cam sensors is what I was told. I didn't have the problem fixed due to back order on them. The cause was unknown why it happened
My Jeep is a brand new 2014 Wrangler Sahara. It only has 3,000 miles. The check engine light showed it needs a new oil sensor. The Jeep dealership has to order the part and has no estimated date when they will get it in. I can only imagine how many other people are having this problem, if they can't even get the part! This sucks!
I had my jeep for about 2.5 weeks when the check engine light came on and it was a good thing the dealer was still open to take it in on a Saturday...this oil pressure sensor is quite common (apparently), and if not check could cause some serious issues with the oil pressure...but I don't think that at 1200kms I should be having such issues with the connectors....sigh.
The check engine code came on with only about 500 kilometres on it. I was pretty mad when the light turned on but it turned out to be some random electrical fault or something. It's been a few months now and haven't had a problem.

An oil pressure sensor warning light came on the dash. I figured it would be an easy fix. A $38 part - how hard could it be?
A full day later because you have to take off the lower and upper intake to get to the part!! The dealer wanted $1200... managed to do it myself.
Again - who designs these things??
