Currently only impacting rear left tire. Had to have multiple replacement parts to my back rear brake. Mechanic noted that he's also doing preventative work while the entire brake is currently taken apart and gave me a warning this could be the case for each axle...

Wrangler Sport 3.6L

Going about 20mph. Car in front of me slows down, so I start braking. The Jeep didn't slow down; pedal starts pumping like when anti lock brakes kick in. It's a clear day, dry road surface - no reason for it to kick in antilock brakes. I put both feet on the brake pedal, but the Jeep keeps going forward until hitting the car in front of me.

I was able to move to the shoulder and brake w/o issue minutes later.

My Jeep Wrangler is a 2014, bought brand new. I have always felt a little fearful driving with it in the rain because it always slips and found that the only way I could feel safe driving it was in 4 wheel drive on a rainy or snowy day. So I always try to drive as carefully as I can.

ACCIDENT DUE TO BRAKES NOT WORKING & Broken Axle:

Anyway I recently got into an accident due to the car not stopping at ALL while braking. I was driving on a busy highway and luckily I was in the left lane because had I not been it would have been worse!! I saw the cars braking quickly ahead of me so I started to brake but immediately realized that it was not stopping or even slowing down! So I quickly try to veer to the left into the grass hitting the left back side of the car behind me. At this point my foot is down on the brake and the car is still going at the original speed, it doesn't stop... not until I hit another car on the side.

When I got out and saw the damage, my axle was broken off from the drivers side and on the ground. There was also damage done to the passenger side as well as tire damage of course because of the impact to the other cars.

I saw on this and other forums that others have experienced something similar. I could have lost my life if I hit the guardrail instead of that other car. But this is so dangerous that it would not brake, scared the living hell out of me and now I am having second thoughts about keeping this car! I bought this car because I felt like it would be a safe car under all conditions, especially during snow. It was regular day, I was on my way to work and because of the failure of the axle &/or brake I ended up also impacting two other people's lives. The biggest blessing is that no one was hurt.

TUTTLE CLICK LOCATED IN TUSTIN CA, 40 AUTO CENTER DR TUSTIN CA. Here is a run down of my experience at Tuttle. First of all i took my 16 year old daughter to purchase her first vehicle. This was supposed to be a memorable moment instead it has been nothing but a nightmare. I got to the Dealership and met Jorge the sales rep which came across so polite and very genuine. I end up purchasing a "Preowned Certified Vehicle" which was a 2014 Black Jeep Wrangler with a soft top at the time i was purchasing it they made promises after promises. Once the paperwork was complete no one went over the vehicle with my daughter. The handed the vehicle over to my daughter dirty and then said they will go over how to remove the top tomorrow. We drove the vehicle home and heard rattling noises, the brakes were acting up and each turn my daughter made we heard a loud noise. We came in the next day Jorge wasn't there he was off, i asked if someone can take a look at the vehicle and take it for a drive to check about the noise, Service department asked me to leave it and they will check it out and give me a call. 4 days pass by and i called the dealership to find out the status of my vehicle, they advised nothing was wrong with the vehicle and it was ready to be picked up. I picked up my vehicle and when i received my invoice no where did it state that they inspected the brakes or the loud noise. I took the vehicle home and of course the brakes were acting up and the noise still there. I called again and emailed my sales person to advise him that i need the service department to take a look at the vehicle. I was asked to bring the vehicle back in and no one was available to help me. I waited 30 minutes before anyone can help and again asked if they can go for a test drive so that i can explain what noise and the brake issue. They asked me to leave my vehicle again and i did, this time 5 days and no response so i call in to check the status of my vehicle and was advised that the Brake Booster was replaced and they now resolved the issue. I am extremely disappointed that a dealership will put a vehicle on the lot for sale that is Certified Preowned and have the issues i had. Along with a broken brake light to top it off. Not only that the soft top is defective and had velcro on the top to secure the top from the sides. I pointed that out to the manager which is the owners nephew Johnson King which said that he wished he can help me but he cannot because of the sales tax of the vehicle which was a lie that i found out when i contacted the Board of Equalization. His resolution was that the brake issue was fixed and they can peel it off the velcro from the soft top. WOW!! what wonderful service. This is unacceptable! not only did i purchase a vehicle and the very next day have issues i had my vehicle sitting in the service department for a total of 10 days and only owned the vehicle for 3 weeks. We didn't get to drive the vehicle without an issue. The manager didn't care to work with me to make things better instead he continued to make excused. How would a mother feel safe purchasing a vehicle with brake issues and handing it over to her daughter? I have never in my life experienced this type of service and have ever had an issue purchasing a vehicle. I will be contacting the BBB and Department of DMV Investigation to report that a CPO was sold to me with Brake problems along with the Jeep Corporation. This is not how a dealership should operate nor treat their customers. I went to Tuttle Click to purchase a vehicle for my daughter and it resulted into a nightmare. I hope that everyone that reads my review will take my advise to save themselves from this type of situation. You cannot TRUST this company nor the people that work there. I will contact consumer affairs along with Jeep Corporate office to advise them on the service, the vehicle and file my complaints.

When in slow moving traffic I was forced to stop short. When I applied the brake it went into anti-lock braking mode. With my foot firmly on the pedal the car refused to come to a complete stop and continued to actually drive forward and caused me to collide with the car in front. The car would only stop after I pumped the brake and re-engaged the brake.

Wrangler Sahara 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

Did panic stop and the brakes vibrated, pedal pulsated up and down, sounded like gears mashing, and growled. Did everything but stop the vehicle in a timely fashion. Happened only once but was a scary incident. Brake pedal is not firm, it is spongy. Took it to dealer whom of course said there is nothing wrong with it but keep an eye on it. What does "keep an eye on it mean". No charge but also no work done. THE COMPUTER SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG, EVERYTHING IS OK-----Until it happens again.
