I bought my jeep brand new, I've been driving standard transmission for almost 30 years. At just under 44,000 Km's my clutch goes! The dealership wouldn't cover it, since they consider it as a "wearable part". I was in a real bind, and had to fork out the $1500 to get it fixed. I found out later that if my jeep was in the U.S. that it would of been cover for 36,000 miles, but in Canada it is only 20,000 km. WTF? Isn't this backwards? I had the dealer give me my old clutch so I can have it inspected. At first glance you can see blue burn marks on it! That's not suppose to be there, and the clutch isn't suppose to get hot enough to leave burn marks! Now it is a year and a half later, I have just over 70,000 km and my clutch is going again! If this clutch has burn marks in it also, something is seriously wrong and is causing the clutch to wear out way too fast!
