I had to have the clockspring replaced early in the life of the my 2012 Jeep wrangler RHD . That was under factory warranty not sure how many miles then but at 108,000 miles on 5/14/15 it had to have the clockspring replaced again at my cost of $485. I have an extended warranty on all electrical parts of my jeep, but Chrysler said that this was not covered . WHY? it is a electrical part . The first sentence in the JEEP mechanical manual states: The clockspring is a mechanical electrical circuit component that is used to provide continuous electrical continuity between the fixed panel wire harness and certain electrical components mounted on or in the rotating steering wheel. So WHY it is not covered on the electrical warranty? Now it is 2/12/2106 and the clockspring is bad again 9 months later . What is the lifespan if a clockspring? 9 months? Should be longer then that I would think. And what is causing it to go bad? Any suggestions on any of my questions would a GREAT help . Thank you
