How can it be acceptable for a $40K car wth 32K miles and that is used part time to have this extensive of an issue and get no support form the manufacturer? I find this unacceptable and infuriating. I probably used the heat less than 25 times in the three winters I had the car!

Obviously after review and searching the net, this issue is quite massive and still rampant across the nation. I assume Chrysler corporate is winning the war on this issue and will continue to make crappy parts and sell them to people. The horrible part is they won't take responsibility for it and make a profit from it in the process of it all. Sounds like a win for Chrysler and loss for those who or oblivious to what they are buying on the lot. A shame.

Noticed no heat in my car. Passenger side was warm, not hot but the drivers side was cold. Did a little research and discovered that this is a known issue with many different model year wranglers. Brought it to the dealer, Brown's in Patchogue, NY, On December 1, 2014 who confirmed that it was in fact a 'sludge' that had filled the radiator and heater core. The car is just out of warranty with 39,000 miles. I was told the cost was $1500 which included 9 hours of labor.

I immediately called Chrysler and opened a case to get them to pay as this is a known defect apparently caused by casting sand left in the engine during manufacturing. After a few calls my case manager says she has never heard of this issue and that she can't help me. I immediately bring to her attention the two star cases (TSB's) that Chrysler released on this issue with one being from 2011 and the most recent from December 2012. She denied knowing about these and had me email her copies, which I did. I authorized them via phone to start repairs on 12/8/14.

Some more back and forth with the dealer and they have now covered all but $500 of the repair, which I am still fighting and not accepting. Chrysler will not cover the difference and is offering me a service contract which I won't be accepting. My car was promised to be ready by 12/10/14 at the latest. It is now 12/14/14 and it still isn't ready.

Each time I call or stop in I get the runaround and get transferred to 5 different people, none of whom know anything or will give me any information about my car. Knowing other Jeep owners who have had this repair it should take two days maximum. I am beginning to think there was other damage done to my car and they are stalling in hopes of fixing it without me knowing. They have also not offered me any type of loaner car or rental reimbursement. This case will be going to court unless they decide to fully cover my repair.

Update from Sep 16, 2015: After three weeks and some screaming in the showroom they finally fixed my car. The auto start didn't work so I took it to the stereo place. After hours trying to figure out why they discovered the mechanics purposefully disconnected the neutral safety switch. They wrote it on my sales form and I paid them $200 to fix it. I called my chrysler rep and told her what happened. She emailed me back saying that the dealership admitted it may have happened so she was going to cover the full amount of the repair. I only think it was covered because they were worried about a lawsuit. After getting it back, the heat worked but it always made the weirdest noises. A few months go by, I go to put on the AC and guess what? No AC! i took it to y mechanic who recharged it. Had AC for a day, then nothing again. So on a cool day I took it back to the dealer, said I wante a 2015 in a different color and traded that piece of crap in! Now its their problem to deal with. I got a better interest rate on my new one anyways. My friend has a 2011 and just discovered that his doesn't have any heat now either. My advice to him and anyone else with this problem: get rid of it! It's not worth the aggravation.

At first they ripped out the dashboard at the jeep dealership to put in a new heating housing. However we still didn't have heat and they realized there was almost no coolant in the car.

When I first bought the jeep, while driving down the road, the A/C fan will stop and then a few seconds later, it will come back on. The dealer looked at it and really just jiggled some wires to see what would happen. Just a nuisance right now but it could go off and stay that way when I am out of warranty!
