I live in Vineland New Jersey and this started off with my headlights last year in winter 2019 and this winter 2020. I would be driving and all of a sudden my traction control lights turns on and then the Jeep will turn off on its own... I looked for help and no one can figure it out...

Now the electrical box makes noise while the Jeep is off - that's how I knew it was somewhere in the electrical box. In order for me to turn the Jeep back on, I would have to mess with the cables under the box.

This morning I started my Jeep to warm it up and when I came back outside the Jeep turned off. I had to pop open the hood and i hit the electrical box - it made a noise, the noise stopped, then the Jeep turned on ...

THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.. I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THIS ISSUE, AND THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND CHECKED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS IN AN ACCIDENT AND LOSES A LOVES ONE BECAUSE NO RECALL IS DONE..

The TIPM in my 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport has been causing major issues! The Jeep stalls out while driving and while stopped at a street light/sign which will end up causing an accident sooner or later. A few weeks ago I was stuck in the middle of a four-way busy intersection, unable to restart my vehicle, with my son in the car. Jeep is putting people's lives at stake by not resolving this issue. Also, my front windshield wipers will not work at all.

This is a major issue because I cannot drive to and from work, etc. in in-climate weather such as rain or snow. I have had to take days off of work due to this problem. To repair the TIPM, I have been quoted $1,200 from a local garage which includes parts and labor. I have read of many other Jeep owners having the same or similar problems. This needs to be addressed and a recall be done immediately due to the dangerous situations this faulty part is causing.

Almost crashed, extremely dangerous situation – I was on the road, the Jeep Wrangler 2011 went out completely/stopped running. It did not brake, turn on, doesn't respond at all. I risked my life and my kids. I have already been on the edge of crashing and I had to stop in the grass or green areas to not kill myself. They could not come up with the problem after they tested everything. In the dealer there are several Jeep Wrangler with the same situation/problem. This is clearly a dangerous defect that effects life and security.

I am a loyal Jeep owner this is my second Wrangler and I also own a 2018 Grand Cherokee.

I have convinced numerous friends to buy Wranglers, enough that I could start my own club! Now

I'm concerned!

This electrical possession issue is SERIOUSLY A PROBLEM! (Wipers going crazy and horn honking) All of the forums make this out to be a common problem. Why hasn't there been a recall???!!!

I haven't even started to try a figure out how to fix it yet. So unsure of my cost!

UNBELIEVABLE!

Turn Signals are not working. Brake lights not working. No help on the internet and Dealers are overcharging for this issue. It seems to me they have over complicated a very simple circuit and know of this issue for a very long time.

When I turn car off to get out, it beeps as if the lights are on or the key is still in the ignition. Its as if the car thinks the engine is still on, as the automatic car lock feature does not work when this occurs. This occurs now 9 out of 10 times, and has progressed steadily over the past six months.

The Jeep has remained at Tuttle Click Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep SINCE 2-8-16. The dealership is UNABLE to find the TIPM part. THERE NEEDS TO BE A CLASS ACTION SUIT AS THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND IS HAPPENING TO SO MANY WRANGLERS, THIS ONE DEALERSHIP HAS 10 JEEPS WAITING FOR THE PART. this is insane! there needs to be a formal recall, and Jeep must pay for replacement.

After my horn started going on and off on its own, I did some research and found out that this is typically related to the TIPM problem. Contacted my dealer, and they quoted me $1200 to repair. Also found out that this has been an issue with the 08 models and that the part numbers are the same, but for some reason Chrysler stopped the recall after the 08 models. My Jeep has about 71,000 miles on it, which is basically nothing. Aggravated to beyond belief.

Driving along about 75MPH on I-26. All of a sudden all the lights inside flashed and then when dark. Jeep shut down and went dead. Coasted to shoulder. Shut off ignition and remove the key. Inserted key and started Jeep. About 2 hours later, I pulled over at a rest area, shut of the Jeep, and went to use the rest room. When I returned the Jeep would not respond to the FOB to unlock the doors, I used the key in the manual lock. Jeep would not start. I disconnected the negative battery cable for about 10 seconds, and reinstalled. Jeep started and even 2 days later no return of symptoms.

Sway bar disconnect connection got wet at car wash. Fried the sway bar disconnect motor and TIPM. Killed the car while driving.

How can a car that is made to go into 19" of water die after I take it to car wash to wash under carriage. Local Jeep dealer told me they had never heard of problem. I was the only one in the US that had this issue.

My front power outlet stopped working a month after I got my 2011 Jeep Wrangler. (Got it at 23,000mi). Now, my steering wheel function buttons work for a month, then stop working for a month, then work again. It's been off and on. I'm taking it in today to make sure there is no dangerous short in the wiring that could cause a fire.

I was driving home from work and my Jeep just stalled. It was a good thing I was at an intersection on a red light. Otherwise it would have caused an accident. I contacted Chrysler on the 29th and they scheduled me to drop off the vehicle for service on June 1st. I dropped it off and on June 4th the service tech told me it's a TIPM issue and that my aftermarket lights (which I've never even used caused the TIPM to fail. I asked if I was to put lights back to stock and replace the TIPM will it resolve the issue. He said there's no guarantee that it would. I did a research online and found that this has been an ongoing issue and would like Chrysler to acknowledge the issue and fix the issue.

In a matter of two days I started having MAJOR electrical problems with my jeep. Mainly lost of control for most of the switches and buttons in the cab. along with some lights and power door locks. It cost $204 to have the problem diagnosed as a TIPM failure. Replacement part $677 and another $150 to install. The real kicker is that there are so many problems with this TIPM that they are on national back order. They can't tell when they could have one and of course I would have to pay for it upfront. This unit controls everything from the airbag to the fuel pump. WHY ISN'T THIS A RECALL IF IT IS THIS WIDE SPREAD. Chrysler has recall 2 model with this problem just not mine. There is a class action lawsuit on about 6 other vehicles that they haven't recall.

My 2011 Jeep Wrangler has major electrical problems. The windshield wipers wouldn't turn off even after shutting off the engine. I pulled the fuse but they still stayed on. I could smell something electrical burning so I had to disconnect the battery. Also the door locks don't work and front cigarette lighter stopped working. I called the dealer and made an appointment to bring it in.

While driving to the dealer the Jeep started to shake horribly when accelerating (due to electrical issues with the fuel pump). The dealer says that I need a new Totally Integrated Power Control Module (TIPM ). The cost is well over $1000 (the vehicle is out of warranty). When I searched TIPM problems on-line I found that Chrysler has tons of complaints about this but the only issued a recall on a few vehicle models and Wrangler wasn’t included. There are obviously a bigger number of vehicles affected and Chrysler should recall the remaining models.
