Upon fueling the vehicle and the fueling process stops, the Jeep spits back about 1/2 gallon of fuel, all over the vehicle, the ground and the fuel station.

The design of the fuel tank installed in the 2010 Jeep Wrangler is faulty, The plastic utilized in the manufacture of the gasoline and evaporation fittings is of an inferior material and it can not withstand heat and low humidity. The plastic tends to dry out, crack and crumble, creating fuel and vapor leaks, which could result in a fire or explosion. I have had to replace the gas tank on my 2010 Wrangler in July 2017, at odometer reading 94944 and again in January 2023 with an odometer reading of 161599.

When ever I fill the tank with gas I get leakage of fuel on my driveway so I have been filling it halfway and I don-??t get the leakage it also has a fuel smell. I have found on the internet that this is common and the repair part is available, but I feel that this is very similar to the recall on Toyota trucks that is now on going so I feel it is my duty to report this safety situation

When trying to fill up with gas, the automatic shut off on the nozzle will go off, to the point where when trying to fill up you end up spilling gas on yourself or out of the car, happens every time, all the time and is a known issue for Jeep Jk's. A recall was posted for two of the eleven years. When I spoke to the dealer, they wanted to do a smoke test, because they had never heard of this issue even though there is a service bulletin that I had to personally find. Dealer seems to just want money. I think spilling gas every time I fill up is a major safety concern.

HEADLIGHTS STOP WORKING WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE JEEP KNOWS ABOUT A TIPM ISSUE BUT WILL NOT FIX IT. TIPM issue. This issue is common and described across the web but is a safety hazard! The headlights will flash 3-5 times then completely shut off. Restarting the Jeep and disconnecting the battery does not help. Jeep dealer says circuit in the TIPM is the issue and that this is common! Lordy have mercy for all the vecs on the road when my headlights started flashing at them and then went out on, of course, an unlit section of the road. But the crazier part is Jeep knew this could happen and doesn't warn the customers. I sure did not know that I might be driving blind at night becoming a safety hazard. The lights then decide to not work for a few days before going back to being reliable for anywhere from weeks to months until you happen to drive at night again and bam they go out again. Luckily the runner/ fog lights are unaffected but as a primary vehicle I can not just keep taking ubers every time it is dark outside! This is such a serious safety issue to loose your lights while driving! There are two common fixes for this. One you buy the TIPM or two you buy non stock headlights and reroute them to your own switch but for most of us, buying a part that Jeep knows will break is crazy and not practical (plus WE the consumer didn't know it would) and the alternative of having to buy a different company's lights to buy pass the wiring in just crazy. It is such a serious issue I do not understand why there is no recall! I'm also so unsure if I can even pass a safety inspection anymore. Also the automatic fuel stopper does not work which is ANOTHER know glitch with the TIPM. This is okay if you know about it because you can hold the handle the whole time while filling up but you can not trust it alone. It isn't like it is all the time either. Just enough to keep you on your toes and plosion the ground with spillage. The first time is scary though.

I have been dealing with the fuel shutoff problem since it was new. When the fuel is being put in the tank the fuel will not shut off. The fuel squirts back out of the tank, approx 1/2 gallon. It is a safety issue that has a recall hose on the Jeep jk models which are up to model 2008 0R 2009 which has been adressed. This problem affects all Jeep jk models. I have found a hose that is the replacement part but the dealer will not sell it to me saying its a recall part. I want this part so I can fix my Jeep. I am a certified Mercedes benx tech and want to fix it or take it to have that part put on.

Fuel spills out of gas tank filler tube onto side of Jeep and onto ground every time fill up tank. Wife normally drives Jeep and didn't tell me when this started happening, but I think has been going on now for more than a year but she didn't investigate it online or report it to your staff. Then she went out of town few days ago and when I filled tank on 10/19/20 it overflowed a very noticeable amount of gas onto side of Jeep when using automatic pump shutoff nozzle at costco. Online research indicated fca was aware of this defect in 2007-2008 Jeep Wrangler and tsb issued in 2011 to cover free repair of valve, but although this is the same exact problem, could not find recall or tsb for 2010 Jeep Wrangler. Quick check online indicates many others with Jeep Wrangler built after 2008 having exact same problem. Never had a vehicle do this before, but it is a serious defect and should be fixed for free under a recall or tsb, as was done with the 2007/2008 Jeep. Please let me know if you need and more info. Consumer stated his wife told him it's been happening for the last 10 years.

Fuel overspills the fuel intake when filling at a standard gas pump with auto shut-off. The pump automatically stops filling, then a second later a significant amount of gas splashes back out of the intake. From reading other complains here and online, this is a common problem on Jeep of this year and around it.

When I fill up tank of gas it overflows, does not shut off pump. Gas overflows onto fender, bumper, tire and ground. This is a safety issue. Not to mention a waste of gas and smelly hands all day after cleaning gas off of fender and bumper. Have previously filed a complaint but to date no tsb or recall to address this safety issue.

My dealership refuses to honor a recall for the fuel spillback problem and wants me to pay in excess of $300 for the part and repair. This is the problem with fueling and the pump shutoff does not engage, thus overflowing and spilling gasoline out of the fuel door. This of course happens when the car is stationary. I wasn't allowed to order the mopar part number cnnnx321ac to repair the problem myself because the vendor said it can only be purchased by the dealer because it is a "recalled" part. I need to know how I can file a claim to be reimbursed if I have to pay the dealership or how I can order the part through a vendor who would allow me to purchase the part. Please respond with a solution. Thank you.

While fueling Jeep, as it gets full it will splash gasoline from the fill area onto the Jeep and myself. This is an ongoing problem as it happens on a regular basis and then have to clean my Jeep and myself up because the gas comes out at a good force. I then smell like gasoline for the rest of the day.
