I am writing to you today about my recent experience with your Flemington/Chrysler Jeep and your warranty department. I have 2009 Jeep Wranger Unlimited X with a lifetime warranty on the powertrain and engine. This is the main reason I purchased a Chrysler vehicle new when I was looking for a new vs used vehicle. I actually drove out to Ohio from NJ to get this vehicle! I maintain my vehicle and do all its recommended changes and maintenance when needed.
On June 16, 2014 I brought my vehicle into Flemington Jeep for warranty work which was completed at 99,788 miles. I had them complete all the recommendations suggested by the service rep.
On July 8th, 2014 my Jeep overheated and I brought it back to Flemington Jeep for them to diagnose and fix – the fan stopped working. After the parts arrived and it was fixed, on July 11th they asked me if it was OK for them to do an inspection of my vehicle for the lifetime warranty while it was still in the shop. I said OK. They came back after the inspection, and informed me that the driveshaft boot (which should be covered under lifetime warranty) is torn & needs replacing (it had already been replaced at 61,000 miles). They then informed me that this was NOT going to be covered under warranty because my car did not undergo the warranty inspection in the correct amount of time (It was apparently due June 30th, 2014). Shouldn’t Flemington Chrysler have advised me to do the warranty inspection when I was in the shop in June 16th… not advise me to do it after it supposedly expired? The service manager, George Stydocker, admitted to dropping the ball. And then gave me the full estimate for repair, oil change, 4x4 differential and transfer case fluid change- suggesting I needed all to be done. My oil & my fluids were just changed- the oil was changed on July 7th and the fluids were changed only 10,000 miles ago!
I am a teacher and need to watch and budget my expenses and I rely on the integrity of corporations to back the products, services and warranties they sell. I am extremely disappointed and I find this type of treatment from your dealership appalling and feel that I was scammed out of my lifetime warranty. I have also explained this situation to your customer service department at corporate and they would not help me and would not let me speak to anyone in management.
Please help
