Jeep knows there is a major problem with oil consumption and the rod journals expanding so they changed the engine in 2010 and left all of us owner with out a solution other than replacing it with remanufactured engine that will have the same problems

Wrangler Rubicon 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

The 3.8 liter engine has bad bearing cases and that is the problem that I'm finding with other Jeep owners as well. One bad part can ruin the crank and it is so common that you can't find a new crank or rod to change out. I have two dodge vehicles with hemi engines and both have over 140,00 miles and no problems. I think I'm going with 5.7 swap kit for my fix.

Bought my 3rd Jeep Wrangler....this time, what a mistake. 2009 Wrangler total LEMON. Jeep will not back their warranty. 1. At 44,000 we heard a loud banging noise......dealer replaced motor ....no questions asked (why would a new vehicle need a motor at 44 K?) 2. At 104 k ...really 64 k because of replaced motor ) same thing happens again.

Dealer and Jeep refused to fix it because they said we did not have proof of all the oil changes....they were not going to repair. We took them to small claims court and the judge ruled in favor of the dealership and Jeep. Even when we told them that all the oil changes did occur....they said we need proof.....

What we learned was never buy a Jeep Do not trust Jack Powell Jeep in Escondido If you do not keep accurate records on all oil changes ......they will not warrant your vehicle.

DO NOT BUY A JEEP.
