While driving on busy city street, my battery light came on, quickly followed by other warning lights and it stalled. The vehicle was completely dead and was unresponsive to a jump. It was towed to a shop who replaced the alternator and battery. They commented that well over an hour after being towed to the shop, the alternator was still too hot to touch. I told him the multiple issues I have had along these lines and asked if it could be the TIPM at the helm of the problems, and also mentioned that I had a new radio installed two weeks before the first problem started. He cringed saying it could be the TIPM, but to take it home after these repairs and see. He thought it would be beneficial to talk with the radio installers.

This 'fix' worked 24 hours, almost. Y'all know this is really great-peak season at work, 13+ hours days and transportation troubles. If this is all about the TIPM after all...

I would warm my Jeep up, go inside and then come out to leave for work. The vehicle would be shut off. Or I'd be driving down the road and the vehicle would shut off. The worst time was when I was driving to work when the vehicle shut off 2 times already and restarted just fine and then the third time all the lights on my dash came on and started flashing and the speedometer and rpm meter were moving up and down rapidly and I heard a little beeping noise. Seconds later the vehicle shut off and and thankfully I coasted safely off the road. I tried to restart vehicle but would not. Everytime I tried to restart it the dash lights would blink again and the beeping noise started again. It took 17 minutes till I could finally start it. After that I had no more problems that day. I called my dealership, they got my Jeep in and looked at it. They sew a loose wire. They said it's the wire that runs from the front of the Jeep to the back of the Jeep, along the tranny. They tightened it up and I haven't had any problems since (knock on wood)
