The first of many times happened one morning as I was getting into vehicle. The horn, windshield wipers, lights and instrument indicator lights all activated. The wipers sprayed all the fluid in the reservoir. I could not turn these off. After disconnecting the battery, the engine would not crank for some time and the horn no longer worked. The dealership diagnosed the problem as a faulty horn and replaced the clock spring, horn and a fuse. A few weeks later, while driving, the horn, wipers and lights all came on and I could not turn these off! Even after removing the key, the engine and all the above would not shut off! Once again, I had to disconnect the battery in order to shut these components off. This has happened numerous times since! Now the airbag light comes on periodically! The dealership is now saying the problem is with the TIPM. There seems to be a back order of more than 400+ of these components. Every week that goes by, the dealership says that the ETA has been moved back a week and they will call me when it gets in. To the dealer's credit (after I went a little crazy in the manager's office), they have agreed to pay for the est. cost of $600. But, in the meantime, is this vehicle safe to drive? Shouldn't there be a recall since there are 400+ of these parts on back order? Today, I called Chrysler Customer Service and they told me that they would document this. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! After insisting that something else be done, I was told that a Service Manager would be contacting me tomorrow. We will see. In the meantime.......I am somewhat fearful of driving my Jeep for the simple reason of the unknown. Not to mention the embarrassment that this brings when stopped at a busy intersection and my horn and wipers start blaring uncontrollably. This must be stopped and Chrysler should declare a recall!

I bought this jeep and within a month this piece of crap was just sitting there and I went to unlock it and all the lights, wiper, horn, and wiper fluid all going off. NOTHING made it quit we had to undue the battery. This was 4-1-10. On 4-23-10 i was driving down the road and all this happened while i was driving! So i went straight to the dealer with it doing this and they finally beleived me. They put in a new wiring jumper and washer pump because it burned the washer pump up and a clock spring. Having this happen TOTTALLY SUCKS i hate this jeep it full of problems

while at work the jeep was parked all morning. all of a sudden i hear my horn blaring, wipers moving & squirting lights blinking!! i went out tried to hit the alarm button NOTHING turn on car NOTHING! finally unplug the battery! waited & NOTHING!! car wont start wont do anything! i had to have it towed to a mechanic who deals w/ electrical issues & they are even stumped its been over 2 weeks now im w/ out a car!!! i changed out the radio for a really nice expensive touch screen.. & what the mechanic is telling me is that the diagnostics computer is saying is THE RADIO. they have re programed the computer reset all codes & nothing! so 1 last attempt im going to reinstall the stock radio & see what happends.. next will be a trip to the dealer....ive seen 3 other reports similar to mine, what to do!!??

I started my Jeep and about thirty seconds after I started the car all of the gauges went crazy, the windsheild washer activated and the transmission began to kick. I immedietly turned the car around and went home. I called the dealer and they said that I would have to wait four days until they would even look at my car. I had no option so I had to wait four days. I was not sure if the car was safe so I was without a car for four days. When my dealer finally looked at the car they told me that apparently the cars radio was interfering with the cars critical components and thats what cuased the problem. After about a week and a half a new radio arrived and they fixed the car. So apparently all Chrylser cars are reliant on their radios to work.
