Wrangler X V6

I've had a problem with my AC/heat not working off and on for over a year, I've replaced the blower motor, and a few other parts. I've been in way too many times to figure out why I still have this problem. Now today I was told it's the control panel. GRRRRR I'm tired of this!!

The heater started blowing cold air when the car was in idle.

I had the coolant flushed and re-filled. The car blew hot air for about two weeks and then started blowing cold air again. I took the vehicle to the garage and they topped up the coolant and burped the cooling system. It seemed to fix the problem for awhile but now I am hearing the swishing sound again when I start the vehicle and while the heater is still blowing hot air, the temperature isn't as warm as it was a few weeks ago.

I am wondering if I have a leak in my cooling system. No drops or liquid are ever noticeable under the Jeep when it has been parked for long periods of time.

Wrangler RHD V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

I bought my 2008 RHD Jeep Wrangler used from a local dealer in June of 2013. With around 40,000on it. I started having issues 2 months later. In the summer I ran my AC, an hour into delivering my mail route, air stopped blowing out of the vents. I can still hear the compressor working just no air coming out and the lights are still on showing the AC is turned on. It doesn't matter if I turn the AC off or switch the blower speed no air comes out. It will remain not working until the vehicle is shut off and sit for about 15 mins or longer to cool down. In the Winter when I turn my defrost or heat on, it works but once I come outside to get into my Jeep to leave, the blower isn't working. Or sometimes it will be working, but then once I get down the road it will keep kicking in and out and then completely out. Once I shut the vehicle off and let it sit for awhile it will work again. But I found a way for the winter time to manipulate it to keep working. When I warm my Jeep up, I do not turn the Defrost/Heat/anything until my Jeep is warmed up and I'm ready to leave. Then about 95% of the time it stays working. I have taken it to my dealership a few times but the issue is still not fixed. The blower motor was replaced and the resistor switch. Now they think the TIPM MODULE is the reason, but no guarantee. It's a $520 part that is not covered under Chrysler's warranty.

Wrangler 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 87,000 miles

We had a problem with the A/C going out this summer, but it seem to fix itself after a few days. Now it is back to nothing on the control station will turn it on. No air will blow, hot or cold. the lights turn on for the A/C and interior air but still nothing coming out of any vent in any position. the last few days we heard what sounded like running water and then the floor is wet next to the gas pedal and the passenger sides like it is leaking in the middle. my husband works the next few days and it is our only car so I will have to wait to take it to the shop.

This is trip # 5 to the shop after buying this piece of crap. 2 months earlier the blower for the heat would stop working, then it would start working, then stop again. We got back from Florida, hopped in the car and guess what? No blower ... so back to shop for a blower motor.

Wrangler 4 Door V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 21,000 miles

A few days ago I was driving my Jeep and I decided to turn on the AC. So I turn on the fan then I activated the AC. I felt the kick of the AC and then I noticed that no air was entering the cabin even with the nob at full blast. I checked the vents and I noticed that an occasional puff of air entered the cabin. I called the dealer and explained the problem and the service manager claimed it should be the cars blower. I took it to the dealer and so far they have had the car for about 24 hours. After calling about five times I finally got through to the service manager for an update on the repairs and he claimed that they have found nothing wrong with the car. I am really having trouble believing them because they used the same excuse when my car would not start. Anybody got any ideas?

Wrangler 4 Door V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 21,500 miles

A few weeks ago I was driving my Jeep then I noticed that the airflow from the AC sped up and slowed down on its own. Then an occasional puff of air entered the cabin. I took it to the dealer and they kept the car for about four days. Then they called me and told me that nothing was wrong with the car. I took the car back and a few days later the same problem happened. This time I drove straight to the dealer and showed the service manager that there was a problem that his company missed. They took the car and about twenty minutes later they told me that the AC power distribution system was on the fritz. They ordered a part and I am currently waiting to see if they fixed the problem.
