I have had 4 electrical/engine events with the most recent occurring in July, 2014 after picking up my kids from camp. As I slowed down for a light, all dash board lights came on, the radio went dead and the engine cut out. Luckily I was coming to a stop at the light, and as I was looking at the dash trying to figure out what happened, the Jeep then turned back on.please help.

While driving westbound on the highway to parumph nv the engine stalled out at approximately 65 mph. I was lucky there was no traffic going my direction and the highway way fairly straight. I was able to controll the vehicle well enough to get it to the side of the road without incident. Complete loss of power could have had tragic results under different circumstances. I'm getting rid of this death trap. This happened once before on a trip to searchlight a year ago, engine stall / roughly the same speed. The dealership that repaired it in henderson said it was a faulty maf sensor.

Experience very loud and noisy exhaust manifolds, dealer found both intake manifolds to be defective and leaking, warranty repair and replaced both. #2 leak found in power steering, dealer stated leaks in lines, rack, and pump, warranty on all but the lines, #3 also found catalytic converter leak, recommend replacement (again happens to be under warranty) #4 found small hole in intermediate pipe, recommended replacement. #5 looking further dealership found cylinder head to be leaking!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes, covered under warranty. Now I am beginning to wonder about this dealership, as I have never used them before not did I but the Jeep from them..#6 tech stated some wear in all ball joints, recommended replacement. #7 found steering damper to have a leak, recommended replacement, now as anyone can SE there seems to be many issues related to my 07 jk.

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. In addition, the vehicle would exhibit an abnormal noise when accelerating and when the vehicle sporadically failed to start. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced due to the connection rod failing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 09V436000 (power train). The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

Purchased 2007 Wrangler sahara new. Maintained vehicle as suggested by manufacturer. Noticed early on the 3.8 L V6 burned oil. Was told this was normal, so I added a quart of oil every 1,000 miles. At 51,000 miles noticed a loud knock. Immediately took the vehicle in for service and was told that the engine was blown. I had changed the oil at 50,000 miles but somehow lost all of the oil in 1,000 miles. Never had a check engine light or oil warning light, no oil showing on the ground. Dealer wanted $7,000 to install remanufactured long block. Would not call Chrysler on my behalf even though they had been the one servicing the vehicle. Chrysler refused any assistance since out of warranty. Three different customer service representatives refused to allow me to speak with anyone above them as the decision (made in one hour) was final. They refused to give me an address or fax number so that I could submit my service records to show that I had maintained the vehicle. In fact, they indicated that not only was a quart of oil every 700-1,000 miles was perfectly normal, that is was also normal to check the oil level at least once a week when fueling the vehicle. A quick review on the internet shows thousands with this problem. 650 signatures are on one petition alone that show this is a problem that Chrysler refuses to acknowledge.

While driving on paved, city boulevard, I heard a very short, almost inaudible "beep" warning, but saw no warning lights. About a week later, I heard the same very short "beep", again, no warning light. About a week later, a "beep" accompanied by the check oil light. I stopped checked oil. I was low. This is the first time I've had low oil on this vehical, bought new. After about a week more of driving the check oil light again came on and I heard a sudden loud knocking from the engine. A diagnostic indicates the engine is "seized" and needs replacing. At less than 5700 miles of easy driving, I find this incredulous.

First occurrence Dec 6th 2012, backing out of an inclined driveway. Vehicle seemed as if it had no power, stalled, spitting and sputtering like it was starving for gas. Finally got it out of the driveway and was about 15 miles from closest Jeep dealership in ocala fl, and nursed it there, spitting and sputtering and stalling the whole trip. Left it overnight and got a call the next day where they had found the problem and a couple of other things wrong (unrelated to the problem) I approved the fixes and after $677 later drove off the lot. The only thing I can see on the invoice that would have caused the original problem is a line that reads "cleaner-fuelsystem" and has a $59 part and a $106 labor charge. On January 13th 2013 it starts acting up again. I take it back to same dealership the next day and complain that I'm not going to come in every month and pay a $90 diagnostics fee for something they said was fixed. So they plug it in and the code tells them I was running "lean" however they have no idea this time what's wrong. And of course it's not doing it so they "can't fix what's not broke". between Jan and July it has done this many times, in the beginning it was once or twice a month but now will do it almost every trip. When it stalls completely I loose ps & pb, very dangerous. It now stalls at speeds of around 50 mph and I just have to pull onto shoulder to restart. Sometimes it restarts right away and other times I have to sit a short bit. It seems to be related to longer trips, 1-2 hours. But sometimes will happen after being on the road for 15 minutes. The stalling at 50 mph and loosing ps & pb is the most concerning in traffic.

Jeep died completely - lost power and electrical while driving 60 mph on a hwy. This is the 4th time this has occurred - each time under different driving conditions. There is a recall for this issue with Jeep upto January 22, 2007 models. My Jeep is a February 2007 model so they are saying my Jeep is not covered under this recall.

I purchased a 2007 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sahara. The dealership supposedly did an oil change and after 3 months and about 1,800 miles of driving my oil light came on. I checked the oil and it was low. I took it to a local shop(valvoline quick lube) to get an oil change and they mentioned the oil plug was stripped and that there was silicone caulk to help seal the oil plug. At this point I had them replace the oil plug and was content with the service. After driving 500-600 miles after the oil change I checked the oil and it was low as if it was disappearing. No visible leaks in my garage and none in my parking spot at work. At this point I had to add 2 quarts of oil to get to read on the dip stick. This went on until my next oil change and I had valvoline look for any visual leaks. They mentioned nothing that would explain the massive amount of oil being consumed. Finally, in March of 2013, took my Jeep to a Chrysler dealership to have them start an oil consumption test. After the first 500 miles they stated there was loss of oil and made there marks and resealed everything for the next 500 miles. I took it back in at the next 500 mile mark, now mind you everything is sealed so they know nothing was tampered with, performance Chrysler called me and told me that there was significant oil loss and they stated the rings on the pistons are bad and need to be replaced at a cost of $3,300. My complaint is, my Jeep at this point has 47000 miles on it and they are telling me the rings are bad. I've had vehicles that lasted 120,000+ and no problems with the rings on the pistons. I have talked to a couple of mechanics and said there should be no way the rings should have gone bad that fast.

I bought the Jeep new in February/March of 2007. In December 2009, at approximately 45K miles, I heard a loud knocking noise that sounded like it was coming from the bottom end of the engine. Took the Jeep to my regular oil change center and they confirmed the knocking sound. I then took the Jeep to local dealer who informed me that it was spun bearings and there was metal shavings in the oil pan. They put in a new motor (Chrysler offered some assistance after much complaining and arguing on my side, but it still cost me $1,500 as it as out of warranty). Now, in August 2012, at a total of 90K miles (approximately 45K on the new motor), the bearings are spun again. This will be the 3rd motor in this Jeep. I have the receipts from my regular oil change center showing that I have regularly changed the oil. The service department at the dealer says they are not aware of any other ppl having this issue. However, internet research shows significant numbers of ppl with 2007 Jeep Wrangler that are having spun bearings at around 45K miles. Jeep should be replacing these motors at no cost to the consumer as this appears to be a design defect.
