This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The main issue of concern is what I describe as surging, what I mean is the vehicle wants to go without any input from the driver. What I have determined is that the vehicle has a fluctuating idle RPM as opposed to a steady idle RPM and when the idle RPM drops below an acceptable level the computer sends a signal to kick the throttle and the vehicle then surges. I have reported this problem to my dealer and they responded by saying they couldn't verify the concern. A co-worker recently purchased the same vehicle type, engine transmission and so on and has reported the same issue to her dealer and was also told that the concern was not verifiable.
