Consumer was shifting into passing gear when shift lever fell off transmission, and then shifted into neutral by itself. Consumer was able to maintain control, and pull over off road. Consumer uncovered bottom of shifter lever, and noticed there was no locking device between shift lever and transmission.
Leaking fluid from the transfer case at, only 35000 miles to vehicle. The vehicle was always properly maintananced and never abused or gone off roading. A $212 job at the dealer to replace seals. Is it to early for anything to leak, especially in a new vehicle?
