Our 2016 Jeep Renegade, broke down on my daughter on July 11th,2018 the car wouldn't start at the gas pump. I called a tow truck that was going to charge 90.00 so she kept trying until the car started. She drove the car straight to the dealership Galeana in Columbia SC(after hours drop off). John called me on Thursday morning, I told him it wouldn't start and the the brake light came on. John the mechanic that service for the Chrysler vehicles said with it not starting had nothing to do with brakes. He charged me 75.00 for a diagnostic test.( He said its the battery). He replaced the battery for total cost of 332.00, plus the oil change. He said this should do it.
On Friday7/13/2018 AFTER picking up the vehicle the parking brakes came on by themselves (again)The vehicle wouldn't move. So I called the service department this morning Monday 7/16/2018. I told John what my daughter said its doing again. He said bring it back so he can check it. I do NOT WANT TO KEEP COMING BACK and Forth to the dealership playing the guessing game, and charging me more money that I do not have. The Jeep is my daughters only car for going back and forth to school and work. I think there should be a recalled as I have read numerous complaints of similar issues with parking brakes and the car shutting off. I feel like the car is unsafe for my daughter with my grandson as a passenger. My daughter has called the service department around 1045 am to set up or schedule an appointment to bring the car back. John was not available. He has not called her back as of 12:05pm
