CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Jeep Renegade has a very large volume of complaints for such a new model, especially compared to other SUVs in the same class.
Most Jeep Renegade complaints are for various problems with interior accessories & electrical systems, as well as squealing brakes, transmission (rough shifting) and engine problems.
There are a lot of comments about wonky transmission issues with Chrysler, and this is yet another problem to report. I've always felt the transmission was a little off and today the drivetrain failed while I was driving. A noise occurred (like a click) while I was driving on a highway (roughly 50 mph) and a warning appeared on the screen to service the transmission immediately. The transmission became unresponsive for 2 minutes. I could press the gas and the engine would rev but no forward movement occurred. Another click occurred and then I was able to move forward but the car was stuck in 2nd gear. After 30 minutes of idling on the side of the road, the transmission was then again fully responsive. It's at the dealership now to see what's going on, but I have a feeling this is just the beginning of a painful process.
